I was in Tuscaloosa this weekend moving son in for his fresman year. We walked over to the stadium and watched the festivities. All I can say is WOW! (I took some photos but I don't know how to post them. I'd be happy to email them to someone else for them to post.)

I wrote one rec for UA recruitment and she pledged ADPi!!!!!

Hi all, I just got back from Tuscaloosa as well and my cute niece is a KKG! Bid Day is a whole other animal there. Our girls were extremely fortunate - everyone we knew got a home and everyone was thrilled. Lots of work (recs, grades etc...) had gone into a successful recruitment. Bid Day at Alabama is SO fun and quite the experience!

yay for ADPi Diamond's rec. girl and for shirley1929's niece!

I hope your little friend will consider the opportunity that DG is offering to those seeking a GLO home.

My UA friend interviewed with DG yesterday, I had sent her rec and info to them earlier in the week. She is so laid back and quite, that I think she may interview better than small talk. She went from 10 out of 11 philanthropy invitations to 2 skit day and 2 pref. Unfortunatly she did SIP on her bid choices, but seemed OK yesterday when she wasn't placed. She is a unique young lady, born to older parents, her Mom died when she was barely 3. She would benefit greatly by a sisterhood.

Another alum told me that Pi Phi got 78 + 8 upperclassmen! Yay, Alabama Beta chapter!

I'm an upper classman at bama. I'm going through the dg colonization process and I've already had my interview(which was a blast, the women of dg are wonderful) Tomorrow and Wednesday they are holding information meetings at 6:30(We choose which one we want to go to. ) Then we have to wait until Saturday morning to go get envelops from the Greek affairs office to find out if we got invited to pref!!! fingers crossed!!

A very talented girl that my alum chapter was asked to write a rec for went GPhiB.

I know of 3 girls who didn't get bids. Of course, they had options but would not consider the one group that probably would have offered them a bid. Two I don't know well but one I know very well and she is everything that a sorority member should be - don't know what happened and she isn't answering messages. I do know she was cut hard at the beginning and only had two options for Skit Day. I'm sure she is going to try Delta Gamma but so are many girls. This was not the experience she expected when she chose to go to Bama and I have to admit I didn't see it coming for her. In this case, I think being out of state did hurt her because she didn't know more than two or three girls there and one of those girls belongs to a group that requires a higher GPA than she had. I am very, very sad for her and for her mom.

Hmm. Angryface at "Alpha Delta Gamma" on that bidlist site.
