I'm all about quota additions. Look at those and figure out how many girls would have gone unbid pre-QA.

Like. Think how much Theta will benefit from this class as I'm sure Gamma Phi did from their monster class last year!

Looks like Auburn might need another sorority in the near future as well. Does Auburn's Greek housing have open space for a new sorority?

Titchou 08-14-2011 12:32 PM

Thanks to RFM and maximizing options, so many more women are part of the Greek experience!

Lavalier 08-14-2011 12:33 PM

AUBoosMom - Congratulations! I know you are thrilled to have your daughter as an ADPi Happy for you and for her:)

Counted and new members are from 37 different states plus DC, Puerto Rico, and the Netherlands! I think this proves that you can get a bid even if you're from out of state at a SEC school.

Also, one girl from the town I grew-up in! I don't recognize the name though...

Congrats to all the new members!!!

Seriously, 96? I don't even know what to say! While I am thrilled, I will confess to also be incredibly puzzled at the vast difference with all the other groups' QAs.

Do Auburn QAs go to the smallest chapter of the three on a bid card, or do they go to the group that the PNM puts first? I had heard from (admittedly only a semi-reliable) source that our Auburn chapter was actually quite large.

Just trying to figure out how one group seems to get most of the QAs.

Woot! Auburn recruitment... on my bucket list (and AZ-AlphaXi's as well, for our road trip).

And all I can say is that I'm grateful I'm not the ABC/Education Advisor for the new member class of Thetas. In my mind, this high number may be due to Theta still being new on campus and in a building membership phase. Regardless, welcome to all the PNMs who are now NEW MEMBERS. It's for a lifetime, it truly is.

I see Ohio girls on the list!

A girl from Cincy = Delta Zeta.
Another girl from Cincy = Delta Zeta
Another Cincy girl = Chi Omega
A girl from Springfield = Sigma Kappa
A girl from Broadview Heights = ZTA

Lots of Cali girls too:

A girl from Orange Co. = Kappa Kappa Gamma
A girl from Sun Valley = Delta Gamma
A girl from Lancaster = Theta
A girl from Palos Verdes = Gamma Phi Beta
A girl from Moraga = Sigma Kappa
A girl from Del Mar = Alpha Delta Pi
A girl from Newport Beach = Pi Beta Phi
A girl from Oakley = ZTA
A girl from San Fran = Theta
A girl from Manhattan Beach = Gamma Phi Beta
A girl from Monrovia = Gamma Phi Beta
A girl from Ojai = Gamma Phi Beta

It always seems that Ohio girls go DZ at both Bama and AU. Irony?

You will get your first choice if you are on their first bid list.

This is Kappa Alpha Theta's 2nd year of regular rush - they recolonized after being away from Auburn for a few years. They were below the overall limit so they can take more than quota.

Titchou 08-14-2011 01:23 PM

Whether you are at total or not has nothing to do with how many quota additions you can take. It is predicated only on matching bid lists to bid cards. So you will go to the group you listed highest if you are on their list. As an example from the days of hand bid matching, the PNM's names are called in alpha order and matched to whomever they list first - if they are on that group's first list. And so on thru the list of PNMs. And that is done till a group closes out and then they go with the PNMs second choice, and it starts over for them. The women left once all t he groups close out are then eligible for quota additions as long as they maximized their options. Then they are added as above. It's sooooooo much faster by computer! Take my word as one who did it by hand for many years!

if you put them first and you are on their first bid list, you are NOT a QA, you match. That's how a match is made.

If you take QAs and still aren't at total, you can continue to bid up to total, correct?
