That's interesting. I come from the school of thought that blacks like you are shuckers and jivers who would rather be angry than get something accomplished.

If I had a more racially balanced group of co-workers and friends, I don't think it would be a big a deal. But if a group is already in the minority, I don't want to put individuals in the spokesman/woman for the race kind of role.

(although I think it would be pretty funny to be the spokeswoman for white suburban Americans. I'd like to be called on to explain jello salad with marshmallows to someone from a different culture)

Okay first of all, my mom HATED jello salad with marshmmallows so i NEVER had it growing up. I am so deprived. :(

Secondly, I'm glad to hear that people are aware of such things as I bolded -- I never assumed that people who were not minorities ever thought about it like that.

Did you by chance catch what AG Holder said on that topic?

A NATION OF COWARDS

Kinda weird graduating at the top of the class when you are the only one....hmmm?

I think sometimes they take the materials to set up the tree stands in September on four wheelers but if they're taking coolers or anything on the day they're hunting they carry them by foot. They don't want to spook their dinner, I guess.

This is where you need to research and gain some understanding.

That is a very old school of thought and someone as black as you are should know that.

I speak freely no matter what media I use. I have been trained to show that parity wherever I go.

But you do bring up an interesting point, why is what you write brings more weight to the "conversation" than what you say publicly? I am attempting to research that concept myself...

I am not a communications expert. No way, no how...

And that's just me as a person... People that have gotten to know me personally from online media have made their own determinations... You would have to ask them. Some people will NEVER know me personally or otherwise. So they choose to believe whatever they want. So what?

Please expound if I did not answer your question. Thanks.

Yeah, I think everyone here is a willing participant and that's why we talk about what we talk about. In real life, it can be harder not to put people on the spot.

I talk pretty freely too, but I think I occasionally think before I speak more in real life about how what I say may permanently affect my relationships with other people. It matters more to me in real life that a person has become upset or angry than it matters here. I care about other people's comfort; on GreekChat, I assume that if you're in the news and politics forum, you like to mix it up.

There's also a matter of risk that exist when we talk about race or class or gender in real life. Some people are interested in classifying others and treating them differently based on that classification. Here, there are very few consequences.

sorry, not down for turning into an insecure nut job like you.

You are one piece of work I refuse to research.

Next thing I know, I will just let any old thing slide and be just as passive and submissive.

No thanks.

I will totally make you Jello salad with all kinds of stuff in it.

The thing you've bolded; important step for people who are involved in multicultural/ethnic/economic etc. situations. Just because one person who identifies with a group says or does something, doesn't mean all people who are also self identifying feel, act, or think the same way. I've seen some well intentioned, yet unsavvy people make some situations pretty awkward by saying something that may be fine with certain people, and not others.

Is this idiot serious?

He wants to be butthurt about Travis the Chimp in a political cartoon but doesn't even know the school of thought I'm referencing? Wow.

Well, that means to me you are choosing to engage in a conversation with me. What that means to me is you are choosing to have another session with me, DrPhil...

We are NOT friends or buddies. I do not trust you. So, any interaction I have with you is serious...

That is how I "roll"...

No slight to you but I would like to believe that you think before you say anything regardless of the medium.

I don't think there is that much difference on how some feel whether in real life on on the boards.

There is always risk but if you are willing to take it depends on what reward you are looking for in the final outcome...agreed?

Because I don't give a fuck about you...how many times I have to tell you that you don't excite me enough to care about your 'train' of thought?

Not buying what you are selling.

and who is the idiot that continues addressing me?

That's what it's all about for you huh?

"me....me.....me...."

"Ooooh look at me...I am on a higher plane of thought than the rest of you.."

"Ooooo....look at me...I am nothing like the rest of you..."

If I cut you, you will bleed red just like me.

You aren't special so stop trying.
