I noticed the same thing. Sen. Obama mentioned McCain and there was a smattering of polite applause and several crowd shots of groups of Obama supporters clearly looking like they did not care to clap (and didn't). Big deal on both sides. As alphagamzetagam pointed out, people are human. They're just doing what they feel in the moment. Neither side should be painted with a broad brush based on the reactions of the TV crowds in highly-emotional moments. .....Kelly :) |

:) There really is not much else left to say. After I was done (running around the house and tearing through the front yard in glee). I came in side, fell down and cried. I have no voice. My throat is raw from screaming. But I'm so damn happy. See you at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue President Obama!

Honestly, let's just have respect for the fact that there is a difference of opinion. Not everyone is thrilled about Obama being elected. It's ok - it shouldn't take away from your joy about your candidate being elected. |
Are they projecting that CA voted YES on prop 8? What the deuce? Is it really California anymore after that?

Also, I hate to pull the Popeye, but apparently I am what I am. Unreal. The music here to the "outro" is a little overwrought, but I don't blame them - I'd bask/revel and let the crowd go apeshit too, I guess. Seriously, Obama's win wasn't because McCain sucked or he picked a bad VP or because he ran a negative campaign - those were all the result of Obama's campaign. He won because he motivated the electorate like no one since maybe JFK - it's really a phenomenon, and it'll be interesting to see whether the outgoing results agree with the fervor coming in. It's definitely an exciting and bizarre time for Americans. |
*contented sigh*

Classy. Way to rub it in. Congrats Obama! I sincerely hope he's not a politician that's "all talk." I expect great things from him ;) |
