Epsilon Chapter at Illinois Wesleyan, 1895 Musicians? Tennis players? Scholars? All of the above![/quote] My favorite is the woman in the center holding the banana, and the other woman who is looking like she's going to take a bite! |

Maybe they were showing their hobbies? There are a couple holding books, one holding flowers... Or, judging from their caps, they're graduates. Maybe each item they're holding signifies their major, and the one holding the banana majored in botany? ;) PS: The one holding flowers is not sitting like a lady! |

Ahaha thanks for posting those, littleowl! I have that book, but I hadn't looked at those pictures that carefully. I remember the giant key one. Wtf?
The banana/tennis/juggling picture is HILARIOUS! WHaaaaat? |
Do you ever try to imagine what these young ladies would look like today at that age?

I'm late to the game but I absolutely love this thread. All my sororities "old school" pics are from the late '80's. Lots of big hair...LOL!!! :D We're still babies...:) I just love looking at these pics. I think for the most part they were so much more formal and I love that!! The pics from the 1800's are AMAZING!! |
