In a little more than an hour there should be a wild, squealing, joyous explosion in Mississippi. If the weather there is like ours here 3 1/2 hours east -- what a beautiful afternoon for Bid Day!

I feel more anticipation now than I did at my own bid day. My best friend is there today and will hopefully tell me by tonight where she ended up! She's had a terrific rush experience and I'm so happy for her. :)

Congratulations! I just saw on FB that she is one of 133 NM for our Nu Beta chapter! That is huge, but they are a great group. I know a quite a few dedicated alumnae from Nu Beta.

One of my girls is now AOPi as well! Congrats to AOPi!

My daughter went Theta. :) She's really happy to be with a really "cool" group of girls. We're looking forward to an exciting year with her new Theta sisters.

My daughter also sent me a quick text to let me know that a friend of hers that was cut before skit round got a snap bid from KD. (She is such a sweet, sweet girl, and her friends were so upset when she got cut, so that was great to hear.) It was a fun, but VERY stressful week for my daughter and her friends, but they all ended up sooo happy. (I LOVE happy endings!)

127 new Phis!!! I hear that freshman quota was 117 and upperclass quota 10. Is that correct?

My daughter's roomie went Pi Phi and so did one of her best friends. They wanted Pi Phi so badly. They are so excited!!

I think all the sororites made quota at Ole Miss today. Congratulations, Greek Nation!!

One rec girl went AOII, one rec girl I am still waiting to hear about, and one went THETA! Yay!

Congrats to all the chapters, PNMs, advisors, etc., who made this such a successful recruitment. I can't imagine how they do it, not only after classes start, but in what would generally be around the first round of tests.

Congrats to all the new members -- sounds like all happy endings!

And I agree with Blondie93 -- a hat tip to the PNMs, actives, and alums who somehow pull this off after classes have started. You all must be amazing multi-taskers who can function with very little sleep!

Of the girls I knew going through at Ole Miss (I wrote recs for a number of them but not all), there were 7 Chi Omegas, three Tri-Deltas and three Delta Gammas. So excited for all of them!

I also wrote my first rec to Ole Miss this year as well, I heard she went Pi Phi and is thrilled!

Maybe I'm hopelessly outdated, but I don't understand why these gorgeous young women do their best to find the least flattering outfits possible. It's probably simpler to order the bid day shirts all in large sizes, but giant t-shirts with athletic shorts and tube socks...smh. Whatever happened to sundresses?

Those are "the thing" now. Look at what their moms wore, and you have to admit...this is as opposite it as you can get. Which is the point.

My daughter pledged Pi Phi and is beyond excited as she loved them all week!! Although it's not my sorority (which I knew would be tough to get in to being from OOS and not knowing anyone from MS), Pi Phi is exactly where she is meant to be! So I am happy she is happy!! It was certainly FUN to be there as a mom & I'm glad I had a friend to experience it with me! Luckily we laughed more than we cried. Most everything I heard about it was true....a very stressful week as my dd had a paper due Tuesday & 2 big tests on Wednesday. The other 2 girls from my HT pledged KD and Pi Phi. They all got their 1st choice from Pref Party night. Thanks SO MUCH to all the ladies on Greekchat for your information, advice and support!!

I still can't even wrap my head around the amount of work that the chapters at Ole Miss put into recruitment. The time commitment that the ladies put in is incredible, but it certainly shows in the results. Y'all certainly deserve to put your feet up, take a deep breath and enjoy your success.

Congrats! My little sister is a senior Pi Phi at Ole Miss, and from her experience that chapter seems to have such a strong sense of sisterhood. I think she'll love it! :D
