I'm a Mary Kay consultant
I think too many live obliviously inside their "pink bubble" I love the product, but it is kinda a "culty" group |
Their nail polish was alright for the colors...too bad they don't make it anymore. Like I said before the nail formula wasn't that great be/c it didn't dry that well (But I've noticed that in other polishes)...anyway! I just don't think their makeup is any better than anything sold at Sephora and at Sephora I don't have to listen to a sales pitch. Plus, their face wash stuff (usually what they start a party off with) is awful if you have sensitive skin like me. It had a "burnt-like" affect on my skin.
They did have this hand stuff my mom liked...can't remember what it was called though... |

My friend won a pampering session for herself and 5 friends this Saturday and I'm invited. I love the Satin Hands so I'm excited for it. We're supposed to get free make up, too. I just need some red lipstick and I can get that at Rite Aid.

ANSWER TO THE MYSTERY QUESTION: The products aren't sold in stores because Mary Kay wanted women to feel a sense of relationship and rapport when learning about the products and how to apply them--which you would not get at a mall counter. Apparently, selling them in regular stores wasn't even an option. Oh and I did get that red lipstick from Rite Aid. CG Outlast Double Lipshine ROCKS. |

If you cant get with that concept then it would be best if you continued to purchase your cosmetics over the counter, but please dont hate on those of us that appreciate being given the opportunity to have our foundation match our complexion precisely; therefore, eliminating the mask look. You know when you see a woman with the make-up line around the chin when the make-up dont quite blend with the neck and the face. Now that is a sista who could use a beauty consultant because her friends are not her friends. |

Dont understand how a person achieve the level of directorship and then turns around and tarnish the image of MaryKay Ash. Its like turning on your family and denouncing your kinship. MaryKay is not all about selling and buying make-up. I have a degree in psychology and I own a very lucrative company, when presented the opportunity to be apart of one of the oldest cosmetic company that still puts women first, I jumped. Why not because I want to push make-up on people, but because there was a time in my life when I was broken and confused, I feel God allowed me to go through that period of homeless confusion only to bring to this point of wanting to help women who are like I was, find their way back.
Its nothing looking in the mirror and seeing a beautiful reflection of yourself despite the negative situation you may find yourself in. Stop trying to mar the image of Marykay. You would not want anyone to try to tear down a legacy you built. |
Its funny MaryKay has been around all these years and instead of respecting the ambitions of other women we have women that decide that because they themselves are not ambitious enough to build a multi-billion dollar conglomerate they would hate on those that have the ambition and drive to do so. Love, life is filled with too much hurt and pains try passing out some love to your fellow sisters as oppose to tearing them down.
Its easy to point a finger, but it takes a real women to want to create a solution to a problem. MaryKay saw there was a problem and devised a solution can you say that you created a positive change that affected more than just you and those you know. Just something to think about. |

There are a few products that Mary Kay has that I like, but overall I think the ability to really make a good living from Mary Kay has kind of diminished...and not because Mary Kay died. I think there are just too many consultants out there. People who got into the business some years ago have fared much better. Now it is difficult for women to build up a clientele because there ARE so many consultants and unless they decided to steal clients, they have to struggle. It is difficult for the women to recruit because, again, there ARE so many consultants.
