Hey, that's okay :) I have a lot to say sometimes as well. But breaking it up makes it much easier on the eyes and easier to follow if you lose your place.

Well, that "one person" -asserted some wacky "facts" that had no validity to them at all and incited a debate. A couple people sided with her. Some against. It happens. And everyone is entitled to voice their opinions here, to agree or disagree. There's no limit to the amount of people that can agree or disagree on something. Being that this was about religion, it's bound to become heated. People like to challenge other people, and in this case, it was a bit lopsided, but that proved a point.

GC has a lot of strong minded, willful, intelligent outspoken individuals who do enjoy a good debate. Perhaps it takes some getting used to. But if we wanted to run someone off the board it sure wouldn't be like that ;)

My favorite way to run someone off the boards is to bust her bariatric surgery having, pretend sorority belonging, stalker freak ass.

I continue to stand by my original statement. This nations laws and original design is based on basic Christian (old and new testiment) biblical beliefs.

That's from the NIV. Are these some of the Christian beliefs we were founded on?

Bible passages are so fun when taken out of context, just like things said by the founders.

Have to disagree on this one. The whole point of a retail business is to make money. If you have a market that you know doesn't speak English, you're crazy not to try and have employees that speak the language of that market.

As you've said, this is a capitalist society, and the question of whether these potential customers ought to learn to speak English (and maybe they are learning, but don't feel fluent enough yet to try and, say, buy a car or appliance from your business) takes a backseat to the question of are you losing money because you don't have employees who can communicate with part of your market.

This is a convenient way to think about laws, but is patently incorrect. Some laws overlap with Biblical beliefs, but the vast majority do not - and the ones that do overlap are not based on Biblical morals, but instead on infringing on the rights of others (via theft, murder, etc).

This is why adultery is not illegal. This is why coveting is not illegal. This is why rape and assault are illegal.

In fact, regardless of which version of the 10 Commandments you use (or did you not know there were multiples?), few match up to things that are illegal in the US. In fact, I'll argue that probably the only 'legislation by morality' in the United States today comes in the form of drug laws - and without even having to put my Libertarian hat on, I'll just point out that the first drug to be made illegal came FAR after the days of the founders, and it was the first incident of the power of 'lobbying' forces (marijuana, pushed out by tobacco interests).

What, exactly, about the 'original design' of the USA conforms with Biblical beliefs? I cannot find a single instance of a representative democracy or really any sort of federalism in the Bible - mostly it's kings, patriarchy, and the like. Can you enlighten me further here? I may be misunderstanding this point.
