I miss Kitso.... I wish he would come back cause he made the Texas thread fun. And, he's an Aggie! :)

As I stated earlier in another thread, sometimes it's good when people go away.

I know most of y'all have a nice list of GCers you wish would go away (and I'm probably on some of them yeeeeeah :D ) but they're still here.

If people want to leave and do leave, then let 'em!

Sure people had been rude in the past to her but she could be just as rude and snide right back, no matter if the people involved were half her age or not. She posted many things in which she seemed to have a closed mind on and it was almost as if she refused to understand what other peole would say if she didn't agree with it. That's ignorance.

Reading that last thread -- the political one -- it's pretty clear to me that a *number* of posts were deleted.

Well, well, well... Seems like there's a lot of speculation as to why I don't participate in GC any longer. So, let me set the record straight. It's called passages. You know, entering a different phase of life. That was the primary reason. To those who implied I left because someone disagreed with me...I'd be HOMELESS if I "left" every time someone disagreed with me.
I've had "debates" with the best of GC, DZRose-James-Rudy-Valkyrie-who I do rather like-Tom and Billy, even dear sweet Arya to name a few. I guess I would have left long ago if the implication was true.

I do feel that GC has changed, and when I no longer enjoy the "company" of an organization, it's best all around to make a graceful exit. Best for all concerned.

Damasa-I take issue with part of what you said. Still, I know there is some truth as well. I will never change my opinion on certain ethical quandaries. I can't adopt certain social/political views when they are in full conflict with my values.
So, for a while, I was a voice of another lifestyle and belief system. One that works for me and many others. One that helped bring me a happy life. Why wouldn't I want to share with others some alternative possibilities to the permeating attitudes of these threads? If there are no conflicting views exchanged, how can you ever get people to "think" about things. THAT would foster ignorance.
(I'm also having a hard time with the word snide. Never thought of myself as snide, but I'll try to be more observant.)

Passages-More important things are taking up my time these days. All's well in Greekland for the kids. I have new interests and volunteering commitments. I also have the opportunity to help my mother. Maybe in some way I can repay her for all the care she gave me growing up. Things really do change and with the exception of
checking out some personal PMs and making a last check on some individuals I will miss, I really do say goodbye. NOT to any one or any incident, but to a stage in my life as I move on to face new, more challenging situations.

To thine own self be true.

you've found me out - i was actually in on it the whole time

Also...Harpoon Special Batch is good stuff - it comes in pint bottles, only comes in singles, and tastes REALLY good.

Not so good..when you get a bag of defective charcoal. The novelty of having a grill and a backyard fades when you're having trouble grilling a cheeseburger.

That's still a pretty moot point either way...

To JAM - I wasn't trying to be rude I was simply making an observation. I never really got involved in any post that you were involved with in the political forum. Personally, I always had the feeling that you were offering more than just a view. I guess had the feeling that something was trying to be forced on me and that I was being told what I believed in was wrong and I don't agree. I did state I thought you could be snide at times because I thought you could. You could get quite vicious in a very subtle kinda way.

Good luck to you and your family in the future. (I think your daughter's chapter has had some recent issues and I hope they get things worked out for the best.)

Wait, but why's that moot? I can think of a LOT of things that could've been posted that she could've replied to. Then if those posts were deleted, JAM would've looked like she was making completely unprovoked and vicious comments.

I have no idea if that was the case or not -- I didn't read the thread before the posts got deleted -- I'm just saying, it does seem relevant.

It's moot for a number of reasons. First and foremost, JAM has made up her mind about GC and it seems she has moved on for the most part. Second, I doubt anyone really knows exactly what posts in that thread were deleted. We aren't sure if JAM had posts deleted or if other people did, or both. Third, this issue should have been dead but there are people that had a feeling that JAM was run off the boards (possibly insinuating an H&A plot).

We also don't know what posts could have been deleted on that thread had JAM replied to some of them. Then again, I don't really see anything in the posts that remain which would force JAM to make vicious comments. It was a political thread and sure it was heated but it appeared (from the remaining posts) that the heat came from both sides.

Woah, I think I stumbled into the random thread on accident. ;)

Hey JAM, I'm glad to hear that things are well. I don't think you and I ever agreed on anything, but I always enjoyed discussing things with you. :)
