I don't disagree with you about the china, but why is race ALWAYS an issue with you? Grow up.

Race/color isn't an issue with me squirt....nor has it ever been with Barack Obama. It's a joke. Kind of like Barack the Magic Negro, Obama the Messiah, etc. etc. etc. If it offends you......don't read it. Please though, point me to all the posts that have led you to the conclusion that "race is always an issue" with me. Frankly, I don't know what you're talking about and I don't really care to look myself.

Just because I think he is a hack job politician who got elected because he told everyone exactly what they wanted to hear in no way means that I am not more than proud of my country for electing it's first African American president. It is a monumental day in our history...one that we should all be proud of. I will respect the office of the President, pray for him, and support him while in office.

Get off your high horse and go bug a tour guide. Maybe make fun of a fast food worker or something.......

I don't have to say anything. This thread has nothing to do with my feelings on a black man being elected President of the United States.

If someone wants to accuse me of taking issue with Barack Obama because of his race/color I will GLADLY defend myself. Me calling him Black Jesus, Messiah, etc. has nothing to do with him being an African American.

^ Clearly it doesn't! Especially since calling him Black Jesus is a bit redundant because Jesus is black to begin with.

You know, ever since your so called 'return' you been coming of as....

how shall I put it mildly....

sounding like a lil bitch.

and yeah....Black Jesus is going a lil' far there....Black Jesus is a stretch even by Black people's term...and using that in that context is not relating that to him being black how exactly? if you simply called him Jesus without the BLACK part...then your lil hissy fit of an argument would have some legs

I.A.S.K. Let me put another spin on AWP = Angry Whiny Person.

tex...Bring that back some will ya?

I'm with you right up until "...and support him while in office." I think, if we've learned anything from the discussions about the Bush presidency on this site, is that no one has to support the sitting President.

We can pray for the President, we can respect the office, but there's nothing saying that anyone has to support the President or all of his policies.

As someone who has been vocal in their non-support of the immediate past President, you should understand that as well as anyone.

Please go back and read what he said....HE said:

"...and support him while in office."

That was not my comment.

I agree with your point BTW.

The approval ratings proved your point also.

Whoops, jumped the gun there. As they say in court, "withdrawn."

TexasWSP, I get what you're trying to do with the joke. However, that type of joke is contextual. A white man making that joke out of the thin air isn't funny 95% of the time and I don't think you cracked the 5%.

You could've made the same point by saying he is some people's Messiah or Jesus, without saying "Black Jesus." Then you would've just offended fellow Christians. :)

And please believe that I still don't find the humor in "Barack the Magic Negro."

I move that we strike counsel's objection from the record.

Took me a while, but after finishing reading this thread, I'm inspired to add to my China collection :)

(which is Royal Doulton "Tennyson" if anyone wants to donate some!)

Still doesn't make it right or funny

Jokes like that leave to professionals...

like Rush, Don or Michael Richards

And follow this warning:

"Kid's just because you see it on TV, don't try it at home"

"Dude"
