I want to say I knew a Princess Jasmine once
First name Princess, middle name Jasmine.

I am afraid to post any of my kids names because they are so unique, but I am against names that sound/look like this:

Ra'ture
O'rus'sa
Ra'shita

You get the picture. Also, people please refrain from making up names!!!! It would be nice if every parent can find the meaning of the child's name and trace it back to some language family. I know this sounds bad, but parents are setting them up for failure. As much as we try not to, I look at my class list on the first day and think to myself now Le'tootsie pop is going to be a handful!

I went for a fairly unique name and a unique spelling for my daughter...I hope no one's like "Geeze, woman - what were you thinking?!?"

Although, now there's a Barbie princess with her name (but not spelling), so I'm sure it will increase in popularity soon.

I was at the park yesterday when I kept hearing a mom call her toddler "Mav." I was hoping that I just wasn't hearing her correctly, but much to my disapointment she later yelled "Maverick _______ come back here now."

Maverick? Seriously?

Maybe the parents really liked McCain/Palin.

I'm sorry, but these out there names make the parents sound so trashy and low class.

I once knew someone who's first name was Ecclesiastes. Just like the book of the bible. Great book, but I wouldnt name my kid after it.

It's not bad, because at least it can be traced back to Germany and the Netherlands. I have met a couple while in those places.

Now here I thought Chris Rock had it good when he said his main job is to keep his daughter off the pole. With that name, you just insured her top billing on the marquis...Sad really sad.

FAIL!

Dumb question, but who was on maternity leave, your friend or the 8th grader? It could go either way with the way the post is read.:) I hope it was your friend and not the 8th grader though.
