I love really, really love traditional Christmas Hymns. My husband however has managed to spoil (not really) one of them for me. Angels We Have Heard on High is one our music ministers favorties and leads the church congregation in singing it throughout the holidays. The problem, my husband hates it. Everytime we get to the part.... glo-o-o-o-o-ria in excelsis deo, my husband, the butt head starts singing .......deo..deeeo..delight comes and I want to go home. As for me, I can't stand the 12 Days of Christmas.......................p.s. Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

^^^ DITTO!!! *cringing as the song plays in my head*
Plus any commercial rendition of "Little Drummer Boy" (even Stevie Wonder's) and "Silent Night". My mom damn near cries when she hears The Temptations' version of "Silent Night", but I always change the station or skip the song on a CD. I appreciate the meaning of the song, but it always feels like the person singing is trying too hard to pull my heartstrings. I'd rather see the artist donate to a worthy cause instead of singing that song. If this makes me some kind of a heathen...so what? |
I have no idea who sings it, but the latest version of "Hey Santa" that sounds like it's being sung by a teenager.
That, and Christmas Shoes are the only two that I really can't stand. Everything else is fine in moderation. |

ALL of them. :p |
I LOVE Christmas music (my iPod has 500 Christmas songs on it) but I still cringe when I hear "Mary Did You Know?" I think I found one to top that, though. Our local Christmas station played a song called "Dear Mr. Jesus" where a child sings about seeing child abuse on the news. The big climax of the song comes when the kid sings something like "Dear Mr. Jesus, my mommy hits me, too." I don't know how it's a Christmas song, but it drove me insane.

Anything butchered by Beyonce,Aretha, and Mariah.

Anything butchered by anyone! We listened to Christmas carols all the way home from the beach yesterday and why do singers think that we want them to put new notes in a beloved carol--or change the whole rhythm?
|
Ditto with "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year". That song is super annoying.
Quite honestly, I'm a choir freak so I'm not the biggest fan of Christmas carols that are sung individually. If that makes sense. Basically any Christmas carols that my mom tries to sing. She can't carry a frickin tune so it is painful to listen too. Thank god I got my ability to sing from someone else. LOL. |
I'm dreading the you-just-know-it's-coming Taylor Swift Christmas special or CD.
I've never liked "O Christmas Tree" or "Do They Know It's Christmas." |
I freakin' hate most Christmas music. Pretty much the only Christmas music I like is the music from The Nutcracker, which I love. This year I was in Macy's on the last weekend of September and they were putting up posters with models wearing Santa hats, holding ornaments and there was some blurb about Star Rewards Cards. SEPTEMBER!!!!!!!!! I was furious. Call me a Scrooge, but "The Christmas Season" is not and should not be a third of the year. By the end of it, after random people telling me "Merry Christmas" for the 400,000th time, I just start telling them "Happy Chanukah." It just gets so old.

What's worse.....I bought it and LOVE IT. |
I was working on a project yesterday and one of my Brothers had Christmas music blaring on his computer (which I was using).
I now hate all Christmas music. |
2010 additions? I have decided that I can't stand "Santa Baby" either!
