Lynn is TOTALLY obsessed with staying young. That is why she's constantly saying that she doesn't let herself believe she's a mom, blah blah blah. The fact that she tries to fit into her daughters clothes is just pathetic. |
I actually own the dress that the younger sister wore for the birthday party. I wore it for my birthday, however I'm 23 not 16 and I went out to the bars, not to a luncheon! It's a tiny dress for sure and no woman Lynne's age or her daughter's age should be caught dead in it.

I don't even know what to say about last night's episode.
1. Underage Drinking on National TV 2. The Trailer Trash Twins plotting against the new girl to get her "Naked Drunk" 3. Icky Vicky talking about Doobies and Reefers 4. Man-whore Ryan (son of one of the TTTs) hitting on engaged Gretchen 5. Gretchen's downing of shots 6. Tamra and Etiquette used in one sentence 7. Tamra comparing herself to Joan Crawford 8. Icky's reaction to seafood (cooties) 9. Don's reaction to Gretchen's toast to him (and an even better reaction from Icky) 10. Lynn's denial that the missing wine could have been taken by one of her daughters. I'm speachless. Andy Cohen's blog was just about the same comment as mine. It was interesting that they inserted the MADD commercial right before next week's previews. So we now know what the "information the Barney's received" at 1:00 a.m. before the racetrack. It was some guy drunk dialing to tell them that he was dating Gretchen, only to retract his information when he sobered up. I'm done with the OC, particularly the Trailer Trash Twins. Bring on NYC. |

This show is proof that money doesn't buy class or make you immune from tacky. |

Gretchen allowed it, so the blame should fall solely on her. I also think Raquel and her friends were faking being completely drunk. I don't doubt that they probably drank something in the bathroom, but they kept insisting they were really drunk. Only the people that are faking are the ones that insist they are sooooo drunk or soooo high (in my experience). |
I just watched this week's episode last night. Raquel are her friends are so lame. It was obvious they were trying to be so cool by claiming how drunk they were, but if anything, they were acting slightly tipsy, not hammered. It's like Raquel wants people to think you're this awesome 18 year old party girl, but no one cares about her drinking habits! It's just pathetic that she tries to show that off.
I was absolutely disgusted by Gretchen and Ryan. First off, Ryan looks like a creep who would put something in a girl's drink to bring her home. He lurks around those doorways and leers at girls- freak! He is NOT attractive and I've thought from last season that he was gay. Or just waaaaay too into his mom. He has grinded on her in past episodes and he finally admitted this week that he thought she was hot. And his "give me a hug first" line to Gretchen was so cliche- what girl hasn't heard something similiar from a guy trying to hook up with her? Also, I thought Tamra should've exiled Ryan from the party. Yeah he's 22 and an adult but if he's hitting on your friends, kick him out! Maybe the West Coast or the OC has some laid back lifestyle, but I'd be reemed out by my parents if I was hitting on guests at their dinner party. Tamra should've stepped up and played the Mom card and told him to leave. That whole family is just disgusting. Really hating Vicky and Tamra this season. They're such catty bitches. I wasn't a Lynne fan before, and I'm still not entirely, but I liked that she and Frank stepped up to the plate and offered to drive Gretchen home. If only Tamra had taken them up on it! Seems like she just wanted to give Gretchen all access to Ryan so she could turn it into a huge drama later. |
This was hidden on the Top Chef blog...
Brian Malarkey's Blog 16th Minute of Fame! Jan 14, 2009 1:35 PM Andy Warhol said everyone gets his or her 15 minutes of fame - well we had a lot of fame abuse on the "Naked Wasted" episode of RHOC. When Bravo and the ladies came calling for me to take a nice drive up to OC and throw a dinner party, I thought, "I'll take another minute." I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I've never really watched the show, but I figured I knew what it was all about. I was so wrong. I was always curious about how they shoot these types of shows - are they scripted? Where do the camera and sound crews hide, etc.? I learned that it is impossible to script something as wild as an episode with these ladies. When the cameras start rolling - and they are rolling from the minute the ladies walk through the front door - all hell breaks loose. Now you see, I was on Top Chef to of course exploit my cooking skills, skills being the key word here, and myself. These ladies are exploiting themselves for popularity (cheap fame) and this is achieved by doing the outrageous. I was in the kitchen focusing on the multi-course dinner I was preparing and I didn't realize all of the drama that was going on just a few steps away. Now I knew Gretchen was extremely drunk and making a mess of herself on camera for the whole nation to see, but I didn't know that Tamra, Simon and Ryan were plotting it all along. I thought Tamra and Simon were really great to work with, but I must say I was not impressed with the way they went after Gretchen. Now I'm not going to say I didn't think she had it coming, but this was over the top and sending Ryan after her was just wrong on so many levels. I mentioned I was curious as to where they hid the camera - well they don't hide the cameras. Cameras are everywhere and Ryan loves them. The crew was following him all over as he pawed at the defenseless Gretchen, which reminded me of the Hyena (I was going to say Lion, but Ryan is much more of a Hyena) hunting the Gazelle. And for the record, he didn't make a single drink that night. The rest of the group that wasn't involved in the deterioration of Gretchen had a great dinner and were very curious about the food and wine. Vicki is really a sweetheart - yes, a loud sweetheart, but definitely sweet. Jeana almost seems as if she is over trying to compete with these wild blondes for airtime and Lynne was looking like she wanted to get out of there ASAP. Maybe she's got a date with the doobies. |

No comments about the "shocker" that Ryan flashed at the end of dinner next to a very drunk Gretchen?

Lynne and hubby are very naive if they seriously think that neither Raquel nor Alexa would never steal their wine. |
Alright... First, thank you to benzgirl for posting Brian's blog - interesting to read the opinion of someone who was actually there & not part of their scene.
This season has made me really detest Tamra. Vicky's seriously getting on my nerves, too... But that's a-whole-nother story. I like Gretchen, and anyone who's had someone very close to you loose their fight with cancer, can understand where she's coming from (ie. visiting her family at Bass Lake over 4th of July, drinking to get away from reality for even just a little bit, etc). Getting on to this last episode: I understand that no one "forced" her to drink... She is an adult and has to take responsibility for her actions... But Tamra and Ryan definitely plotted to ruin Gretchen that night, and that is just plain evil, no matter how you look at it. She needs to go! |
I thought last night's episode was pretty good. It turned me into a Lynne fan- I totally agreed with her being in shock over how Jeana and Vicki were being at lunch with Gretchen. It's none of their business to know who the beneficiaries are in Jeff's will, and Gretchen didn't seem like it bothered her all that much, so why should they care? Lynne was completely right to say that she'd never bring up "how much money are you leaving me?" while someone is on their death bed! I just couldn't believe how tacky the entire conversation was. They just wouldn't let it drop that she needed to find out about his will and make sure she was left money so she was 'taken care of'. For all the gold digging comments they dropped earlier in the season, it sure didn't seem like Gretchen was after Jeff's money last night!
Also, what was with the lack of parenting during the pool party? Did anyone else notice the 20some 8 year olds playing in the water while the parents all drank with their backs towards the pool? I've known how to swim since I was little, but my parents ALWAYS kept an eye on me when I was in the water! Ryan.. just go away. He shouldn't be allowed to bartend, I wouldn't want that guy anywhere near my drink! |

I KNOW! I always have thought that discussing money-related matters like this, or asking someone about it was considered rude. I guess these women don't know that. I agree with you on the lack of parenting thing. My mom saw that and was like "Oh my God, there's an accident waiting to happen." I noticed that there were little kids with them when they were drinking in Havasu too. |

Ehhh i disagree. Although Lynn had a point, so did Jeana and Vicki. I didn't take their comments as being a golddigger. Lynn and Vicki were coming from two different aspects, and although Vicki could see Lynn's side, Lynn either couldn't or refused to see Vicki's. The fact is that Gretchen & Jeff aren't married, and Gretchen isn't working. If Jeff (lets assume we are talking as if he hasn't died) passed and didn't leave Gretchen as the beneficiary, then she'd be SOL. How would she pay the mortgage on that house they have? How would she make any payments on anything? Where would she live? Vicki was coming at it from a more business mindset, I mean she is in the insurance business, I bet she has seen this often. Lynn comes at it from, experiencing it with her husband. But her husband LIVED, Gretchen's didn't. Plus Lynn was married at the time her husband got cancer, she doesn't understand Gretchen's position. It's called being realistic, not being a golddigger. i'm over Gretchen, her dumb "sex" comments have irked me. First she said that her & Jeff have sex while he is in the hospital....then at the dinner party she made a comment about how she hasn't had sex in 8 months. Come on Gretch, which is it? Get it together. |

True, Jeana and Vicki were being realistic and it is important for Gretchen to keep those things in mind. I just thought they were being pushy, it seemed like Gretchen was uncomfortable with the subject and they just kept talking about it. It did cross my mind that Vicky knows her stuff because she's in the insurance field.. I just think maybe Gretchen should sit down with a financial planner or something if this really concerns her. It would be really unfortunate for Gretchen to be left out of Jeff's will, but how do we know that would make her broke? Maybe she comes from money or something like that and just hasn't shared that information. She's had a career in real estate so she wouldn't be entering the job market totally clueless. I'm confused about the sex comments though too! I can't imagine they'd be hooking up in the hospital though, maybe she was joking about that? |
