HC it was not about *race* at all?
HC I wanted to hear from people actually in the organizations that I directed my comment to?
HC that's why I said "BGLO" and not Black people in BGLOs?
HC there is a difference b/c we have non-Black people in BGLOs too whose comment I would have welcomed as they are actually apart of the Divine 9?
HC this is about the Divine 9 not about race?
HC that's why Starang21 who posted but who is not Black did not get his post deleted?
HC the thread excludes Black non-members of BGLOs who are not actually in the organizations too?
HC that's b/c, again, my point was to hear from real live members, not theorists?
HC why can't members of BGLOs talk amongst themselves without everyone always putting their two cents in?
HC why isn't that possible sometime?
HC how is that any different than asking sorors only to respond?

HC some folk are doing it real big in the imagination department? LOL

HC nobody asked me whether the post was about race instead making that silly assumption and then making a 50 million page thread out of an issue that was not even existent in my thread?

HC stop reading things into text and seek first to understand instead of to be understood?
HC that's one of the seven habits of highly effectively people?
HC I can only shake my head and laugh?

HC some folk have too much time on their hands?

HC I understood your point of view
HC I am Black and in a non-BGLO but was not offended at what you trying to accomplish

Re: HC the thread wasn't about race at all?

HC Soror SummerChild it's not really about your post

HC they want a united stand against bad GC Alphas

HC their own threads didn't do anything to their liking, APhiA didn't do anything to their liking, so when you started your thread it became another outlet to speak out

HC I know our Moderator didn't want that to happen

HC the Pearls of Wisdom applies to all

HC to refresh: Respect the tone of this forum, we do not tolerate ANY inappropriateness.

HC to refresh again: Do not leave one forum and post any negativity in here. We DO NOT tolerate such. If you have an issue, take it to the source, or better yet, get a journal. We don't want it in here! The new features include PM, use it! BTW, the good ole email is still useful.

I can only go on what I've seen; not only that thread, but others threads have appeared to be less than tolerable. I can also only speak to what it appears that others are feeling, which is my feeling as well - everything seems to point to race in a negative manner, which is a sensitive topic, and until Jesus returns, I don't think that's an issue that will ever be agreed upon (and I'm not presuming to speak on the behalf of others here, just for myself). My Soror talks about tolerance, but it turns toward race. Soror Moderator asks only BGLO members to post in the thread, and someone gets offended, then it turns to race. Green eggs and ham comes up and, you guessed it, race!

HC you and I can agree to sit back and say "Let's stop the madness".

<hijack> Wait so the change placed directly in the hand thing is bad?.... That always happens to me... except at places like resturants when you pay the bill...

I'm serious about the change thing - it always happens here and I've always do it to other people too... I didn't know that some people find that offensive...

You missed my point so much that you actually MADE it. . .in situations of many African-Americans, cashiers DON'T look us in the eye or DON'T place change directly in our hands. No amount of diversity training could tell you how that makes me feel.

oh yeah. . . I forgot HC. . .

Hi Soror,
I just wanted to add that my thread wasn't in support or against tolerance? I just wanted to engage in an interesting discussion. I haven't actually put forth my opinion. My questions in the thread are just to facilitate convo. I am still making up my mind.

But thanks for having my back Soror. :)

Wow Tnxbutterfly,
I think that you may be one of few non-BGLO members who spoke out who actually got it. Thanks for the positivity.

Sorors, if you don't reply to these posters, they won't have anyone to talk to. :)
HC I don't apologize for starting the thread but I do apologize (to Sorors and other normal frequenters of the forum) for starting a thread that others love to draw negativity into as this brings negativity to you and your day whether I intended it or not?
HC Sorors, culture :) will carry the day?

Marie 03-17-2005 09:33 PM

HC My bad SummerChild.
HC I'm black and not a member of a BGLO and I understood where you were coming from.
HC I think a bunch of other folks do to.
HC We didn't mean to not have your back.
HC I think we were all trying to run away from the madness.

SummerChild 03-17-2005 09:39 PM

HC Marie, you're fine - don't worry?
HC I just happened to see Tnx's post and thought that I would reply to her?
HC I'm glad that you didn't respond?
HC I haven't responded either? ;)
HC Why did it snow today in the Chi?
HC Craaazy weather?

HC this happened because they wanted to express their opinion and it wasn't asked for nor was it relevant, so they decided to turn into a discussion so that they can feel that they too have a relevant discussion peice?

HC it's quite ridiculous and pompous to throw a hissy fit like many of those posters because their opinion wasn't needed nor asked for.

HC it's not about you.

HC these fools are trying to discuss an alpha issue on akuh ave?

my2cents 03-17-2005 11:14 PM

HC I'm an ex-lurker/non-glo member who just had to speak?

HC After seeing all the commotion in the other forum, I created a thread for everyone? :)

HC I thought that might make people happy?

HC It didn't?

HC Someone thought of it as an attempt to keep isht going?

HC I just wanted to help? :(

HC You just can't win for losing?

HC I missed the snow today?
HC I just got back from a client in Bloomington, IL where it was at least 50 degrees.
HC I don't feel comforted b/c this time last week I was in Seattle where it was knocking on 70 degrees.
HC I'm soooooo ready for summer or at least spring to arrive.
