'Ladies Night' Discount Axed in N.J. Bars

'Ladies Night' Discount Axed in N.J. Bars

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- The state's top civil rights official has ruled that taverns cannot offer discounts to women on "ladies nights," agreeing with a man who claimed such gender-based promotions discriminated against men.

David R. Gillespie said it was not fair for women to get into the Coastline nightclub for free and receive discounted drinks while men paid a $5 cover charge and full price for drinks.

In his ruling Tuesday, J. Frank Vespa-Papaleo, director of the state Division on Civil Rights, rejected arguments by the nightclub that ladies nights were a legitimate promotion. Commercial interests do not override the "important social policy objective of eradicating discrimination," he ruled.

Japan Eyes Internet in Probe of School Killing

By George Nishiyama, Reuters

TOKYO (June 3) - Japanese media have turned their focus to the Internet in the shocking killing of a 12-year-old girl by her classmate this week, as trouble over messages posted on a Web site emerged as a possible motive.

The 11-year-old girl who killed Satomi Mitarai by slashing her throat at their primary school in southern Japan on Tuesday told police she killed her friend because she was angry about a message posted on a Web site, newspapers said.

Why is this guy BLACK?

http://www.courttv.com/news/2004/0604/molestation.html

Dozens of women have sued a gynecologist, saying he performed unnecessary and painful surgeries, molested them and in some cases raped them in the exam room.

In 44 lawsuits, former patients say Dr. Charles Momah fondled their breasts and genitals, and frequently penetrated them with a vaginal ultrasound probe that gynecologists rarely use.

Momah, 47, grew up in Nigeria and trained there and in Canada. In 1993, after working in New York and Georgia, Momah moved to Washington state and opened clinics in two Seattle suburbs.

The women allege he used his size -- 6 feet, 2 inches and more than 300 pounds -- to intimidate them.

That is crazy! Someone should have came forward alot sooner then they did so so many people wouldn't have had so deal with that. All in all it's still fu@ked up. That is why some people are afraid to go to the doctor.

 :( :(

Dr. Pervert is what I call him. It reminds me of the doctor in The Hand That Rocks The Cradle. I prefer women doctors but they could do the same thing this doctor did. If something does not feel right with any doctor, don't sit in silence. :(

I saw a male gyno for the first time last week (always saw females in the past) and I know that it is his policy that there MUST be a female nurse in the exam room. That made me relax a bit, and I think that I will ask for it in the future, if I ever see a different male doctor.

That'a a very good policy to have because even if he was a doctor on the up and up, there are many people in our world who are looking to get rich quick off of any and everything.

Its a good way to protect themselves and the patient! I have a male GYN and he also does this.
