I HATE IT when gay people compare their struggle with the Civil Rights movement ( I know this was mentioned already)...

I HATE IT when Asian or Middle Eastern Americans compare their struggle with ours and compare what they are or have been through to with the Civil Rights Movement...NOT!!!

I HATE when black men date white women BUT love it when black women date white men...I believe it kills the stereotype that black women are not wanted...

I WILL QUIT MY JOB AND DEDICATE MY LIFE TO PROSTESTING IF GEORGE W. BUSH INVADES IRAN!!!!

(I like this post, I need to come back more often ) :)

So, are you saying that even though "some"(because I know that everyone doesn't) people make the effort, they shouldn't be given a little help while they try to improve their health?
I honestly don't believe morbidly obese people are pre-dispositioned. I don't believe people are born with a gene that makes their weight shoot up to 400, 500, and 600 pounds. I think weight gain with staggering numbers like these can be attributed to overeating and being out of control with eating habits. It may sound cruel, but I do not sympathize with people who have become immoble due to their weight. To me that just screams laziness. I don't sympathize with those who have let themselves get so large that they no longer have ankles or those who are bedridden or those who have to be weighed on a truck scale or those who have to buy two plane tickets for themselves or those who have to be hosed down to be cleaned. I think there comes a point where you have to take responsibilty for your actions, so it makes me mad when extremely fat people collect disabilty. My beliefs probably wouldn't apply to your friend if you said she was at least making an effort. My sentiments are aimed toward the gluttonous and lazy.

And further I think these people should be charged extra on the airplane when they take up two seats!

^^
Southwest Airlines makes some obese-type folks buy an extra seat. Very controversial policy.

I think that anyone speaking a dialect and refers to something but no one knows what you mean (e.g. gum band = rubber band  ) should be brainwashed into speaking correctly......

I am virulently opposed to long-term welfare dependency. I don't like having my tax $$$$ going to people who stay on it generation after generation. If I'm going to pay taxes, I'd rather it go to education.

Ditto, especially on the welfare dependency issue. As a single "working stiff" its annoying as hell to sit there trying to scrape up $40-$50 out of my bi-weekly paycheck to buy groceries when the chick AND HER MAMA in front of me are buying 2 baskets full of groceries on their LINK cards with their nails and "hurr" did. Plus they get cash back!!

I'm  at black republicans that are clearly "Uncle Tomin" their way to the top.

"Successful" (depending on your definition) black folks that look down on not-so-successful black folks. Or those that have a superiority complex.

It amazes me how liberals/dems are so mad that they are threatening to move out of the US (as if people really care LOL) because they didn't get their way this election..as if [i]their[i] way is the right way. They've been running social institutions, programs etc. for years and look where it has gotten us. The so called real black folks are calling black folks who voted Republican Uncle Toms and brainwashed etc. but again..their secular ways haven't worked for years..but they still want to keep doing things the same old way..the blind leading the blind..truly sad. :(

My radical and controversial viewpoint is that everyone that has said they want to leave the US because Dubya won should be given free airfare and moving costs and forced out!! I really wish these folks would L-E-A-V-E!

Hah...if it is true, it's true! Black folks who vote republican for religious reasons are brainwashed! Co-sign to lovelyivy's post earlier in this thread about religion being a crutch to some people. How do you really know if it was religion that helped black people rise decades ago? You know it is possible that they could have done it on their own. I believe if people over-rely on religion, they will under-rely own their own capabilities...and how far will that get you?

It's not so much that *I* want to leave the US.. but if New York were to leave the US and join Canada I would actually be in favor of that. Luckily I know that NY will never officially ban gay marriage or anything else like that. However, I'm ashamed to be going to school in Missouri right now.

All this election taught me is to be selfish. I am very pro choice and very much in favor of gay marriage, while I neither want an abortion nor a same-sex marriage for myself. Bush won't really affect me with his policies, but I'm against them anyway for the principle of it. I guess I just need to tell myself.. "well, it doesn't directly affect me so I can deal with another 4 years of Bush"

If only "we" were enlightened like the other 89% because they couldn't possibly be brainwashed  give me a break!

I actually feel great every time someone questions my blackness or calls me brainwashed...it actually says a lot about you...the fact that you don't agree or understand with our viewpoints...we're somehow brainwashed...Please!

Errrr...that's in every race. Just the weekend before last I was traveling out in the boonies with some white buddies...they were pointing and laughing at the messed up trailers we were passing. I don't see this as a selling out thing...classist, yes.

well, i don't agree with above. say what you will but i KNOW that i KNOW that if it had not been for the Lord and my people's faith in Him, we wouldn't even be able to vote, let alone have a computer to complain about the president.

now, maybe that's my radical and controversial moment, but it is what i believe.
