By the end of the episode Jenelle looked like she dropped 50lbs...waay too skinny. Poor Jace :(

It amazes me how parents allow their kids to talk to them and treat them so disrespectfully. If it were me, I would have ended up in the hospital and my mom would've called Child Services herself. Needless to say, my household was quite different.

Dr Phil- Nope she is 24 and lacks quite a bit of common sense and patience.

Joliebelle- I couldnt agree more. Ive told her quite a few times that she is taking it WRONG and if she is going to be hooking with guys that she needs to use back up protection..God only know if she listens!

I finally watched Jenelle's episode last night. Did anyone else think her boyfriend was a druggie? He looked HORRIBLE, huge dark circles under his eyes. And he mentioned that he used to have a car, apartments, nice things.. and now is broke living with his parents. Seems to me like he may have literally 'blown' through that money.

I say it every single episode, my mom would've slapped me if I spoke to her like that. I'd have zero social life, my mom would've laughed in my face if I said I was going out and could she watch the baby? These parents need to call social services. I liked how Jenelle kept threatening that she'd just leave the house.. her mom should've kicked her out and changed the locks.

Sometimes this show makes me too angry to watch because these kids are just so STUPID. Why do they all seem to think their lives will be the same after a baby? When I was in high school, I was terrified of getting pregnant. I still am, and I'm 24! Maybe my school and parents just did a great job of beating it into my head that teenage pregnancy and parenthood is horrible.

I totally agree. The thought of getting preggo now is just as terrifying as it would be at 16 to me. Honestly my mother didnt have to tell me how ridiculous having a baby while im still a baby is, common sense did that lol!

I personally feel this show does glamorize teen pregnancy. MTV is taking a subject that is now on the rise again and putting it on reality television. Teenagers (well all of us) are being BOMBARDED with reality shows. Then these reality show stars because "real" stars and taking up covers of People (i.e. Heidi Montag-Pratt).

Remembering how stupid I was as a teenager, I was all about Hollywood and "wanting to be famous" myself.

I wouldn't be at all suprised if girls will eventually deliberately get pregnant so that they can call MTV and be on the show. My own stupid cousin (now 20) deliberately got pregnant at 18. Remember the pregnancy pact in Maine? Those girls go so much attention because they got pregnant.

The thing is, these girls are obviously craving attention in their lives, and now they are getting it, albeit negative. But as a teacher, kids don't care whether they are getting positive or negative attention, all they care about is "getting attention".

I agree with you. I was on a messageboard after I had googled one of the girls. There were teen girls posting on there how they were so excited for the new season to start and actually thought it was COOL that one of the new girls has twins. Teens think MTV is cool and "reality". They don't know what real life is like.

I thought meth-head but then again he might've just lost his job like thousands of others have. He did say McD's told him he was too over-qualified which wouldn't surprise me if it was true because I've had friends who've been told by Target that they are too qualified.

My parents instilled the fear of God in me to not do drugs and not get pregnant. The chance of disappointing them alone kept me away from that stuff. I had the strictest parents of my friends in junior high and eventually they let up as I got older because of gaining my trust. What happened to those kids I hung out with in junior high whose parents didn't care where they were? One is in prison for life on a conspiracy for murder charge. The others had kids either in high school or right after, out of wedlock. Some have done jail time. Things do happen but it really comes down to teh parents.

Does Janelle remind anyone else of Idgie from Fried Green Tomatoes?

Nikkole's babydaddy is a real piece of work. He was seroudly acting 12 in the delivery room.

"Why are you tired? You slept all day."
"I'm ready to go."
"How long is this gonna take?"

Her mom: Tone it down. She is more important right now.
Babydaddy: No she isn't.

Can you not see that she is in labor? Geez. I felt so bad for her having to listen to that.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, he spoke to his OWN mom the same way.

I feel bad that that kid's dad is such a douche.

Agreed x100. I honestly feel like homeboy has a personality disorder. I felt bad for Nikkole, because she seemed like she really just wanted her mom and babydaddy to get along

It seemed like something was, I don't know, wrong with him.

Every other remark was something smart like "I don't care" or "I'm more important than you are."

what makes you think that you are more important than this baby or more important than this girl's mom?

Like when they went to lunch and he basically said "I don't care" to everything her mom said. Weird.

qbt1990 02-24-2010 02:58 AM

Yeah I legit would've slapped him in the face. I can't believe how immature he was ESPECIALLY when his girlfriend was in labor!

Yeah her babydaddy was a complete d-bag, but her mom was just as vapid. Why in the blue hell would any grown woman argue with a teenager? In the delivery room no less! He's being a rebellious butt face teen. Ignore him and help your kid push out her kid. And then after the whole delivery room fiasco she forbid her daughter from seeing him and wouldnt allow him in her house. That'll surely increase the chances that he's going to actively be a part of the kids life. Both the mom and the d-bag had issues. The mom for trying to controll the d-bag and the d-bag for being himself. I feel for the kid (what was his name? Larry? Levi? Lark? idk).

This guy and Bentley's dad are in close competition for the ultimate teen dad D-bag award.

I agree about the mom (though I think she's probably one of the most supportive moms we've seen on this show). She should've have been trying to out-rank him or try to argue over who is number one. Ummmmm... the woman in labor is number one! Or even not counting her, the baby is number one and always will be.

On another note, there should be some sort of v-chip for overdue pregnant women. I should not be watching baby-related shows when I am 5 days past my due date. Maternity leave started this week, and I swear every time I turn on the tv Baby Story is on, or I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant, or 16 and Pregnant, etc.

Cruise4fun 02-24-2010 10:04 AM

She named the kid Lyle (I believe the babydaddy's name was Kyle).

Did anyone catch the babydaddy saying "men just have a higher pain tolerance than women" why the girl was in the midst of a contraction? Ugh. I hope that kid gets one hell of a kidney stone in the near future as I have heard that it is the closest thing to labor pains.

Babydaddy's name was Josh--the girl he was messing around with was Kyla.

I normally don't watch this show, but after all this banter, I just had to go watch the ep online. That was RIDICULOUS, I almost don't wanna see Jenelle's ep. Josh made me want to punch the screen but Nikkole was just so.....pitiful. She wanted him to love her so badly that she couldn't stand up for her mother or her best friend? I can't even imagine what she must've been feeling when he left her yet again. Girls like her aren't stupid, but she is definitely desperate and that makes me worried for her.

twinkle555 02-24-2010 05:54 PM

The scene where Nikkole and her 13 yr old brother playing RockBand was really touching, but more than anything it shows just how YOUNG she is!! Pregnant and 15? I cant even imagine my 18 yr old brother a father, let alone a 15/16 yr old...so sad. I feel for Nikkole, but she needs to become a stronger person for herself and Lyle...EFF JOSH!
