I've been listening and DJing house for about 5 years, its a great style of music!

I'm a huge fan of progressive house aka Deadmau5, Kaskade, Adam K, as well as some mainstream house like David Guetta and Tiesto's "In search of sunrise" albums.

It's not always appropriate for parties, but I love listening to it pretty much everywhere else.

I rarely hear house when I go out (in DFW) and the places that come close always mix it with trance, which I can't stand.

Blasting it at the house while sitting on the patio is a worthy compromise :D

As for party appropriateness, I guess it depends on where you went to school...at my alma mater electro is currently blowing up and is played up and down the entire row (but mostly the "Big 4": Guetta, MSTRKRFT, Deadmau5 and Kaskade). Then again, I went to school in LA where the scene is really popular in general, what with Hard, EDC, only a couple hours from Coachella, Monster Massive, etc.
