I read she and her fiance, who is PM of Turks and Caicos (Caribbean island that may still be under British control of sorts), met at the Trumpet Awards in the A-T-L. I've also read that the Trumpet Awards are a veritable fest of well-off Black guys.

Congratulations are apparently in order for 'All Of Us' star LisaRaye McCoy. The actress is engaged to Turks and Caicos Chief Minister Michael E. Misick. The two apparently met at the Trumpet Awards in Atlanta this past May, the same time in which Misick met reality television queen Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth. It was reported in this very column that the newly single Manigault-Stallworth and Misick were rumored to be dating -- something that a few exotic vacations and some cozy photos would indicate -- but it looks like McCoy walked away with the ring. The couple supposedly had an elaborate photo shoot for their engagement pictures this past weekend in the Caribbean and the wedding is set for December.

Ok...I don't have a problem with a quick wedding. But I would be a little concerned with the fact that he was vacationing with Omarosa and he met her in May too. So, when did he decide to get serious with Lisa? After Omarosa dumped him? :confused:

Maybe he saw Lisa Raye in The Players Club and saw Omrossa on The Appentice. He probably based his decision on that. In that case, I wouldn't blame him on picking Lisa Raye.

Expunge Usher's name from the list of talent attached to the upcoming 'Dreamgirls' movie project. Sources close to the production say negotiations between the chart-topping entertainer's camp and the film's producers went array, and they've opted to go with another one name singer, Omarion. Beyonce Knowles, Jamie Foxx and Eddie Murphy -- his wife Nicole filed for divorce last week -- are already attached to the project. Names such as Fantasia, Kelly Price and Jennifer Hudson ('American Idol') are still being tossed around to play the role of the Jennifer Holliday character Effie White.

Him is the cutest little water headed baby I done seen in a long time...And she looks totally awesome. My son goes to summer camp with her twins (I am a broke graduate student who was able to scrape up enough money to send my son to UCLA camp to be near me...as opposed to the Hermes toting soccer moms/celebs rolling up off of the hill in Bel Air/Brentwood (or their nannies) to drop off their kids then go to pi *friggin* lates class...but I digress) and the other day I'm dropping him off and I am like "why does she look familiar?" Mind you there are about 3 1/2 Black kids in the camp as is..then it hit me. To have just had a baby, she's doin' the darned thing. She looks GREAT! Fast forward two weeks later, hubby is dropping off the kids and I am like "Rodney needs to run a few laps around Drake Stadium...dang bruh...get it together.

Supermodel Tyra Banks' new talk show doesn't air till September, but it's already set off a blazing catfight.

Karrine Steffans says Banks dissed her horribly when Steffans came on to talk about her memoir, "Confessions of a Video Vixen."

Steffans, who chronicles her many affairs with hip-hop and sports stars in the best seller, says Banks "insisted I wrote 'Confessions' because I was angry and wanted revenge. ... She said, 'These are my colleagues. They're people I know well!'

"Despite what she thinks, she and I are not that different," Steffans tells News contributor Jawn Murray. "I have even heard her being referred to as a 'Hollywood Hop,' for the many men in Hollywood who have bedded her and moved on."
Steffans says she was so mad, "all I could think about was snatching her wig off!"

Banks' manager, Benny Medina, argues, "Tyra certainly never slept around. You can count her relationships on one hand."

Medina says the clash stemmed from Steffans not wanting to discuss the passages in the book. "She glorifies this lifestyle in the book," he says. "But on the show, I think she is ashamed of it."

Ironically, Banks' former flame, director John Singleton, is said to be interested in developing "Video Vixen" as a movie.

Meanwhile, Steffans' relationship with Bill Maher is proceeding nicely.

"She's funny and beautiful," the comic told us yesterday at a lunch that HBO honcho Richard Plepler threw for him at Michaels to celebrate Maher's book, "New Rules."

Maher isn't worried Steffans might turn on him like former girlfriend Coco Johnsen, who filed a $9 million palimony suit (which a judge recently threw out).

"People say I'm into black women," says Maher. "Robert De Niro is into black women. I'm just into women who are real, and they happen to be black."
