I got promoted to Audit Manager, effective Sept 1st....... (I guess that's tomorrow isn't it) :D

I have a full-time teaching job!

The money is not great, but I once again have insurance, so hooray!

Congrats to Beta Omicron alum, Kristin Chenoweth, on her Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy for "Pushing Daisies"!!!

Gypsyboots is engaged! I really like the guy - and yes, they are talking a long engagement. (She should graduate in a year and a half.) Hooray!

I am recovering from surgery and almost off all of the narcotic pain meds..... :)

Those of you who read my Facebook page know that I am on medical leave for surgery I had on the 2nd. As a result, I haven't been online since the end of last month. Thanks to everyone for holding down the fort for me......

Just wanted to share that I'm joining the Chicago alumnae chapter and the Epsilon Chapter for Founders Day this weekend. I'm so excited! I've missed being an active Gamma Phi, even though I've only been an alumna since May.

Last night I officially became a Volunteer Firefighter for my county! I am super excited! :D

Thanks...a Gamma Phi sister, also a firefighter, gave me some encouragement last year and I went for it!

What's funny is that our department has a pink-colored helmet that I think is meant to be used for recruits who mess up during the academy - the offender has to wear it for a certain amount of time. Since 95% of the recruits are males, I guess it's supposed to be an "embarrassment". Of course, I would love to rock the pink helmet...maybe put a crescent on it. ;)

I'm totally late (blame school), but thank you everyone!

We may be moving... more than a little scary! We won't know til June, but I'm excited/nervous. My husband is applying for a leadership program within his job, and it would be a great honor, but the thought of picking up and moving to God know's where seems daunting! And I'd have to give up my job. :o

Master's degree completed & just moved last weekend (still SOO much to unpack!) Now I have to get familiar with our new area & start my next grad program next month!

My kinda* boyfriend is flying me out to Portland in 2 weeks! :D I haven't seen him in months and miss him a lot! Also, I've travelled quite a bit, but never to the Pacific Northwest. I'm excited and sure I will love it.

*kinda boyfriend b/c we dated for over a year (and were together A LOT) until he got a job in Portland in May. When he accepted the job, they said, "and, we want you out here by this weekend," so he moved really abruptly and I felt so left behind! But we still miss each other and, at the very least, I get a trip to Portland out of it! Horray!

Our Alumnae Chapter is going to have TWO alumna initiates this semester! I can hardly believe it. I think the last time it had any was when, after her term as house director was complete, they invited a housemom to become an AI.
What am I most excited about? Getting to craft 2 new paddles :) ha ha ha. And initiation, too, I guess. We're planning a small one with just members of the AC and a few collegiate exec members and I think it will be very special for everyone.
