new...
hallo. i'm the "disturbed" *laughs a bit at that adjetive* sister mentioned here
something about me besides the fact i post too many pictures? i'm from nebraska, sophomore, undecided with english major tendancies. why did i join agd? because my mother (who died when i was 15. information. not looking for pity.) was an AGD. i often say that AGD is not only sisters to me, but also a mother. but it wasn't just to have that connection. i also just... felt at home there. which was odd, as i was terribly anti-sorority in high school, and really up through preference night. so that's my story. ooh, and my name's gwyn. username comes from a strong identification with the story of peter pan. |
Hi Gwyn and welcome to GC!

Hello!
It has been a crazy semester, so I thought I would go ahead and introduce myself when I'm not running around busy...at 1 am. But, you'll have that. Anyway, my name is Sara and I am a collegian. I have so many favorite memories of AGD. Many center on the random moments when we are just being ourselves and being completely random. I love it how they encourage me to be myself and to accept myself. I think that is what drew me to AGD so much; during all of the events, the girls around me where acting like themselves, there was nothing fake--something I saw at so many other houses. I wasn't sure about AGD the first day but I fell in love with it throughout the week and was so excited when I got my bid. I can't wait for more memories to come :) |
Welcome to Greek Chat, Sara! What school do you go to?

Roll Call
Hey all! I'm new, so here's my info!
Ann Montana State University, Delta Gamma Collegian I joined Alpha Gamma Delta on a whim. I went to CU my first semester and loved it. I wanted to rush but I was afraid to because there were so many girls! Then I transferred back home to save money and I rushed as a sophomore with one of my high school friends, who is also an Alpha Gam. We weren't planning on being in the same house but now we love it! I chose AGD because I just felt at home and I loved the girls and their dedication to better themselves, the community and they work so hard in academics and in life. I love it here! |
Welcome to GreekChat, Ann!

Hey y'all!
Kari University of West Georgia - Gamma Tau Active member....3 more years to go! I joined Alpha Gam because it felt like home. The girls who were to become my sisters were so real, unlike some of the other groups on our campus. What you see is what you get. The best part was that rush was just the tip of the iceberg... |
2) The Univeristy of Georgia/Gamma Alpha Chapter
3) Collegian 4) I joined AGD because it just fit. The girls were fabulous and real and I just felt so at home from the minute that I set foot in the door. |

University of Georgia/Gamma Alpha Chapter Collegian I'm a transfer student at a school where sororities don't like to take in anyone who isn't a first year, but Alpha Gam didn't turn me away before ever meeting me :) |
Congrats!!! Can't wait to meet y'all!!:D

Valdosta State U. (Theta Sigma Chapter) Alumnae Favorite memory...hmmm...there are soo many!! I'd have to say that my best memory would have to be Homecoming week. Name:Alison (or Alie)
Chapter: initiated at Gamma Beta, transferred to Theta Lambda Status: just went early alum Feb 2. Why I joined: It felt like home! Favorite Memory: there are so many...but probably the one I laugh about the most is tagging houses on Fraternity row with my PC..being soaked with water hoses, sprayed with shaving cream and chased by fraternity boys, all while getting to know 30 girls who would become my sisters.... |
Welcome to GC, Alie!

Another newbie...
Name: Clio
Chapter: Alpha Pi at Wayne State University in Detroit Pledge Class: Fall 2004 Favorite AGD memory: Probably how I took a kid my first semester as an active. The pledge ritual almost made me cry once I was on the other side with my new daughter. |
Yay AGD
1. Michelle M. Angelo, a.k.a. "Michael Angelo"... Go ahead, ask me why my sisters call me Michael Angelo-- I squirrel dare you!!
2. Collegiate-- a junior.. 3. Proud member of Delta Tau at the lovely Chapman University... we just had our birthday, we're finally two!!!!!!!!! Whoop whoop!! 4. My AGD pledging began when I met who would become my big sis the first day of Human Rights Law class last semester... I was like "she's a cool crazy nerd like me--neat!!!" I had no idea she was even a Greek til recruitment..See, I transferred to Chapman last semester, as a junior with a particular mindset of a sorority that I wanted to join... AGD fit it in more ways than I could ever imagine. And the funny thing is, 3 of the Pledge class members were in that H.R. Law Class, plus my Big Sis was in it too... 4 AGDs in one small class!!! -and- My best AGD memory? Oh, I have TOO many. The one I will never forget was spending my birthday (last October 16th) as a NM with my AGD sisters at a Mud Run that they did in Camp Penelton.. We (the "cheerleaders") left at like 5 a.m. for the 2 our drive.. I was so proud of my sisters who did the mud run.. 6.2 miles in the mud with obstacles... My big sis was among one of our girls running... We wore our Mud Run shirts, which are my fave shirts I have thus far... So, nothing so special about it except for the fact that it was a phenomenal experience for me in many ways... I'm gonna particupate in the Run (actually run in it) next october... Oh it woukd be sweet if other AGD chapters would do it with us! Some alums are doing it with us too, I hear!! |
1. Megan Smith
2. Collegian (a junior)! 3. Like Michelle (who recommended this site to me!), I am a very proud member of the Delta Tau chapter of AGD. 4. Well, I can tell you why I joined AGD AND my favorite AGD memory...I joined AGD because I followed what was told me during formal recruitment last fall: "You'll know which sorority you're supposed to be a part of when you're with that sorority. Just ask yourself, 'Could I call these women my sisters?'" I just knew that AGD was for me when I met all of the kind, strong women of Delta Tau. I didn't want to call anyone else my sisters! Secondly, my favorite AGD memory could probably be the Mud Run (our fall philanthropy event) that Michelle described...but I actually think that my favorite AGD memory was our recent sisterhood retreat in the mountains. Most of us actually got to see snow fall for the first time (yes, we are true Californians)! We made so many fun memories together just being with each other. I <3 AGD. |
Role Call Reply
1) First Name- Dana Leever
2) College/University and Chapter- Delta Tau, Chapman University 3) Collegian or Alumnae- Collegian 4) Why you joined Alpha Gam and/or your fave memory of AGD. My favorite memory would be running in a 6.2 mile "Mud Run" with 4 of my sisters and raising over $1000 dollars for the foundation. |
Welcome Clio, Michelle, Dana and Megan! It's great to have you on board. I hope you feel free to post in our threads and on the other forums on GreekChat!

Present!
Susan
Alumnae (I'm an advisor!) Gamma Upsilon/University of Montevallo I joined AGD because I just felt at home. I have so many wonderful memories--there are TOO many to count, but I loved living on our hall, the year we finally won the Scholarhip Trophy away from another sorority, the many times we won Greek Week......you get the idea! I'm the Member Development advisor (I STILL call it Fraternity Education) for Gamma Omega--what a wonderful group of women! I've had so much fun getting to know our New Members and teaching them all about AGD. I try not to say, "When I was active...." too often, but I just want them to have the same wonderful experiences I had as an undegrad. I also want them to learn that AGD is not just for your college years--it's for a lifetime! |

Hi Everyone!
Alpha Gam alum from Zeta Zeta Chapter. (massachusetts) Now alumnae events coordinator and Recruitment advisor. Favorite memory: Bid day! I love running around to the new girls with red and buff roses, saying congrats and giving out hugs. |
Hello Ladies!!!
I wanted to introduce myself to everyone (since I haven't been on this board for quite a long time!!!). My name is Sarah. I am an Alpha Gam from Delta Pi at San Francisco State University (1996-1999). For a few years (1999-2002), I was an Advisor for Delta Pi. Right now, I am not involved with any collegiate or alumnae chapter/club. I live in the Central Valley in California and the closest chapter/club is about 1 1/2 - 2 hours. I wish there was something closer because I would love to get involved again. Alpha Gam made my collegiate years the best. I was actually a collegiate member with Maria (greeklawgirl) before she graduated. Currently, I am a stay-at-home mom with a 16-month old son. It is so much fun staying home with him. He is truly a blast!!! My husband works at the university in our town. I hope to see all of you at the 2006 Convention! I am so excited about going!!! |

I'm a sophomore at the University of Kentucky Epsilon chapter and I love it! Alpha Gam was my first choice! That year for pref., we dropped a pearl in a bowl- we were told to make a wish and my wish was that I would come back the next day! I cried the whole time during pref! I love AGD and all of my sister everywhere!

- marissa |
i just joined greekchat so i guess im pretty late in introducing myself...:)
my name is nicole i'm from the delta zeta chapter at UBC im a collegian, i COR-ed during the second semester of my first year at school (we dont have spring recruitment at UBC and i missed out on recruitment in the fall!) i was actually considering not joining alpha gam and going through formal recruitment in my second year because i didnt want to "sell myself short" of not meeting the other sororities. but after the second time i met the girls i felt so comfortable with them i knew that i didnt need to meet the other sororities to make my decision :) |
Hi, ladies! I'm a brand new GreekChat poster. I'm a graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.
I'm a little techno-illiterate, so bear with me! I'm Amy, and I'm a graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, BH chapter. Favorite memory? What, I have to list just one?! Okay, a fav would have to be the living purpose...That or a roadtrip to S.C. with six sisters and one sister's boyfriend. (What was he thinking?!) Couldn't, wouldn't be anything but an Alpha Gam! |
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Have been lurking for what seems like forever and decided I should really start posting, so here goes the intro... 1. Julie 2. Alpha Beta - University of Michigan 3. Alum (pledged Winter '93) 4. I didn't really know a lot about sororities, but thought rushing would be a fun way to meet people. So I went to the winter rush meeting at the Union and fell in love with the AGD girls. There were only 4 sororities doing formal winter rush, but I only needed to see one :) Lots of favorite memories, including winning variety at 94 greek week and rooming with 2 of my sisters (including my sis mom) at the Hall of Fame bowl (now the Outback bowl) that same year. I live in Northern Michigan (ok, the U.P.) which makes it hard to stay active as an alum, but that goodness for the internet!! |
May name is Michelle
University of Calgary- Delta Nu chapter Collegian. I currently have two offices: Ritual and activities coordinator. I joined Alpha Gam because the first time i met the members I felt like I had known them my entire life. It was just... right. My favourite memory so far was this year's formal dance. Just lovely :D |
