I finally caught up on my DVR, I have to say I'm happy with the final 3. I predict an Adam - Kris finale, but it really doesn't matter at this point, they'll all end up with something. Adam already has his own solo cover of Entertainment Weekly this week -- not sure THAT's not too unbiased! -- he's on his way. Danny will be a Christian pop/Adult AC star and Kris might slide into that Jack Johnson-milieu. Whether any of them stick and make long-term careers out of it is the question. But then again, Kellie Pickler is out there touring and making records, if she can do it, any of these 3 (actually, any of the final 7) can.

I hated Adam's first song. Not an Adam fan...I hate the screetchy screaming thing. He's good when it's soft.

As a strong fan of Adam, I have to say the best performance of the night was Kris' Heartless. That was just amazing, I would buy that song! It was really amazing. I think his first song was not as bad as the judges said, and after seeing his second song, it makes sense why he did not do it acoustic. Danny, again, did absolutely nothing for me, so hopefully he gets the boot, unlikely, but I can dream, no?

I agree. I thought Adam ruined One by going all screechy. I like Adam, but that was TOO much! I thought Kris won the night with a solid 1st song and a fantastic 2nd song. I too would buy that and I think he can have great commercial success. He is "current".

Gokie was just BORING! He sounds like a lounge singer to me. Not my taste, but I'm sure he'll get through along with Adam.

Might be better for Kris in the long run though to not be controlled by AI and tptb.

On Lambert... I too was tired of the screeching (although, if you need a screech, he does it perfectly)... when he started out the U2 song, I got all excited because the opening was amazing, and then i just started saying out loud, dont screech, dont screech. Oh well, his voice is still amazing... he will benefit from the contribution of producers and record companies in order to provide balance in his music...


On Danny... I think Paula's choice was horrible, and therefor was in need of some DESPERATE rearranging... he did not rearrange it enough, so it lack a contemporary feeling and thus sounded karaoke. His second song was delivered well, but again, I was not too excited about the song choice. I JUST WANT TO POINT THIS OUT: In the final 3, for contestant's choice... Taylor Hicks picked the same song... out of all the contestants!!!!!!!!!

On Kris... his first song, I thought, was not as bad as it is made out to be, albeit the second worst of the night in my opinion. Not because it was bad, but it pales in comparison to Adam, and Kris and Danny's second song... Kris second song, well, that just stole the night, it was amazing, and my second favorite performance of the entire season

okay....so why did katy perry just have a cape on with Adam's name on it? I'm an adam fan...but they are REALLY going overboard with promoting him....

or did I miss something at the beginning of her performance that involved Danny and Kris?

My sister in law downloaded all of the Kris and Adam songs off Itunes, and I have to say that One (U2) sung by Adam is awesome. He sings the high notes, but it is built up to slowly and isn't at all jarring like it sounded on TV, and his other songs are great too.

BUT, Kris's songs are beautiful! Falling Slowly and To Make You Feel My Love are gorgeous and I would buy his album in a heart beat!!

If you haven't listed to the studio full length versions, check them out. Either guy would be a great "American Idol" and they are both deserving.

I am not watching. I never really liked AI after a few seasons and Adam, while I like him and love the fact that he is openly gay, I just can't take the yelling. The other guy doesn't stand out enough to pay attention. Anyways-right now I'm big on female singers, males don't seem to be bringing it in pop music for me.

While I'm not really a fan of either Kris or Adam, I do think Adam out-sang Kris tonight. I actually quite liked the first song Adam sang - probably because he didn't yell in it.

I voted for Kris 169 times in the last thirty minutes. It was the only times that I got through- I probably called over 300 times. I'm crazy head over heals for Kris. I know he doesn't have a huge chance, but man... I want him to win so badly!

I voted for Kris a lot too last night ! Most of my votes went in just before they closed the phone lines (or the lines all got busy) at 1am (EST):)

I think Kris is FAR more talented than Adam and I am keeping my fingers crossed that he wins. I think he would probably get most of the Danny Gokey votes, don't you?:confused:

That's what my family's been saying! One of my sorority sisters stayed with me overnight last night, and of course my family had to watch AI. She's a trained vocalist, and Kris, in her opinion, had much better vocals. Adam's whole scream thing... it'll rip up his vocal cords in a year or two, no question.

I so want Kris to win, but I doubt it will happen.

Count me among those who do not feel Adam is a lock. I genuinely feel that Kris has a chance.

-- many viewers are fed up with the judges and producers setting this up for an Adam victory
-- Gokey's fans will mostly move to Kris if they continue to vote
-- as someone who has found herself living in "middle America..." virtually everyone I talk to in my town is pulling for Kris because he reminds them of the clean-cut guy next door. People here don't seem to be able to relate to Adam. Close minded on their parts? Sure. But their votes count just as much.
-- Kris *is* a legitimately good singer. Oh, and he doesn't scream. He has built a strong fan base despite no pre-show publicity/air-time and lukewarm responses by the judges.

The bigger mystery tonight is why the show has to not only be 2 hours long but also go over? Really? When all we want is the 5 second announcement of the winner? Good grief.

Exactly what I was thinking! I went to record the show last night and realized it's going to be on until close to 10:15! Absolutely ridiculous. They have 13 contestants... the show is an hour. They have 2 people left... 2 hours, 15 minutes. Completely unnecessary.

Yea, but you better believe I still recorded the show right after that, too.. just in case.

I'm hoping that people were spurred on to vote for Kris by all those patronizing comments from the judges: "You have nothing to be ashamed of," "You did great just to be in the final," etc. Ugh. Adam must have compromising photos of them, because I can't believe the tongue bath after "A Change Is Gonna Come"--it was so yelly and screamy.

I, as an Adam fan, think Kris is going to take the win. I think people root for the underdog, and Idol has been pushing Adam, which most people don't like... I think last nights performance did nothing, as most had their mind up... Adam is too controversial...

Dialidol says its too close to call with 1.1% difference, but I am putting my money on Kris winning

I hope Kris wins. I have never understood why everyone is so gaga over Adam. He's screechy and he oversings all his songs. Still, if Kris wins, it'll be one of the biggest upsets in American Idol history; everyone expects Adam to win.

I dont watch AI but I watched the last 5 minutes just to see what these two guys looked like and to see who would win. I got a message from the AOII fan page I have on my facebook that stated Kris' wife was a sister. My AOII sisters, except for a certain few, have been voting for Kris like crazy. I personally liked Adam's performance better (1st impression too), but Kris has a sweet persona. His wife was the blond in the yellow dress.

I only watched the last part of tonight's show (and none during the rest of the season). They both were really good and either could have taken it. I would say that if it weren't for the AOII votes, I don't think Kris would have taken it. But either deserved to be there.

AOII and Arkansas. I can't tell you how INSANE the state has been since he made it into the top.
