Yesterday: Buns workout.
Today: Buns reminded me that it's been a long time since I've done that workout. *ow*

Today I was on about a 7:15 pace. Is it better to slow down and try for more distance, or keep lowering the pace for now before I aim for more distance? My eventual goal is to get back to my college routine of running twice a week and doing 4 miles in 28 minutes.

I would slow it down a bit and add the mileage if I were you. Work your way up to the 4 miles, then work on decreasing the time it takes to run them. For most people increasing distance naturally makes them faster over shorter distances. If you only want to run twice a week, you might consider making every third run a longer distance, and every once in a while doing a shorter, faster distance just to mix things up a bit.

Cool pbear- thanks for the advice. Once I get back on my usual schedule I can slow the pace and raise the distance.

Today I ran 1.33 miles and then 20 minutes on treadmill after a brief rest. I had not tried running 2 days in a row lately, and my knees were a bit unhappy about it. I cannot wait until next week when I can get back in the pool where I belong.

Sleep.

Today: 45 minutes on the StairMaster followed by a mini-circuit for upper body, arms and core.

I took the stairs.

40 minutes of circuit training. Unfortunately I gained 4# on vacation and need to do much more.

I so wished I liked to swim but I hate to get wet so I will stick with the running. I know the swimming would help my bad back but I just can't get passed being cold and wet :(

aggieAXO- in case it helps, we have a lot of people at my club who just walk in the water. So if that is ever a good compromise, it can be great for the back to just walk the pool a few laps. Many of the walkers here do not like getting wet either, and this ends up being a good solution for them.

Awesome racquetball session today- 75 minutes and I almost beat my trainer for the first time in the last game. Then 15 minutes of abs.

Is this where you roll back from standing position and then roll forward and get up on one leg? My trainer had me doing these-very difficult and it hurts!

Does paying your gym membership count?

If so, then that's what I did for excercise today (and unfortunately for the last few, ok, many, months).

I do have good intentions, really...

I parked far away from my destination on campus. And had to walk. In Texas. In August.

I think I sweat off 15 pounds walking from my car :o

I have been paying my membership for the last year and have gone 1 time. I keep saying I am going to cancel it but then I think what if I actually start to go. I have wasted so much $ :(. I prefer the hike and bike trail in Austin-so pretty, much better than a stuffy gym.
