Myspace harbors some seriously creepy characters. My boyfriend has a page, but it's pretty much empty except very basic info and a couple pictures. He doesn't say oh i'm looking to meet people or looking for some fun, but he is constantly getting messages from random girls wanting to hook up, and got a number from this person that ran a group sex group or something and wanted him to join... freaky stuff.

My b/f gets the same things and his profile clearly states he has a woman that he adores and is in love with. Not only that almost every picture he has on there has us in it. I don't get it. There are definitely some creepy people out there.

Same thing happens to me. Tell him to change his profile age to 14, and his profile will be private. Only his friends and those 14 years old will be able to view his profile.

When I first started on MySpace in 2003, I kept on getting messages from people in Malaysia. That was weird.

And regarding NPC sorority groups. Don't know if you heard about the hoo-hah with the Tri Delta groups. I don't know if these chick moderators know anything about moderating -- they let any ole person (male and female) into their group. Check out the Tri Delta groups when you have time -- half their members have boobs the size of volleyballs on their chest. It's pretty safe to say that these hoez aren't members at all. Just spammers with webcams.

Yeah, EO is none to happy about the situation. They've received a bunch of emails about the situation. I don't think the moderators have a clue what they are doing. Good thing nothing is ever posted over there.

I'm 14 on myspace now, too. What is scary is that half my students are NOT 14, are claiming to be 14 or 16 to get a profile and are posting picture with them half naked on myspace. I'm debating about reporting some of them, cause they are just out of control.

MJ's had to change membership to 'Private' since creating the group because of all the spam that found its way to the community.

The AGD group's Private as well, and Melissa, and while it's not difficult to get in, it's a no-brainer to have 'AGD' somewhere on your profile.

Most NPC groups have similar requirements...it's a shame that the Tri Delta ones (I'm shocked that BOTH are like that!) aren't closely monitored. It's as if Tasha Tri-Delt, member of your sorority for 3 weeks, decided one day to create the group because she thought it was 'cool' and then proceeded not to pay any attention to it.

On a final note, this chick probably took perping lessons from 'she who shall not be named'. She claims to be a Tri-Delt at the same campus my friend Rose pledged...was asked to take down the Tri Delta reference but refused.

It's the first time I saw someone claiming to be an XYZ because of an SNL skit. Good one.

I also love it when you can't see bulletins, or your friends, or whether you have mail or not. But I'm addicted...

Ever since he sold it myspace has gone to hell. But I can't blame them, if I got a check for $580 million I would have other things to do as well.

It will probably just take it a while for the changes to show up. I know whenever I do anything to my blog/profile, it's very rare that the changes show up immediately. Give it a few hours...sometimes even a few days.
