I know I'm one of the "bandwagon" fans in your mind. But that's ok, I'm used to it. I live in New York and I'm also a Mets fan so when I cheer for the Red Sox I'm jumping on the bandwagon. You can believe me or not - I really don't care, I've been a Sox fan as long as I've been a Mets fan. My grandfather, who had his choice of 3 New York teams in the Yankees, Giants & Dodgers, choose to root for the Red Sox instead. I root for the Red Sox because he does.

i don't think you're a bandwagon fan, colleen!

No - honestly, I don't, you see "boston sucks" shirts in Daddy Stadium too. Sure red sox fans are bitter toward the yanks, but yankees fans are condescending right back, so it's a wash to my mind. That's how it happens when you have decades of one-sided frustration, I don't think saying one side has better fans is correct at all dude.

Boston fans have been waiting for this opportunity since 1986 so enjoy it. Watching the World Series is a lot of fun especially when your team wins. :)

I would have loved to see the days of Reggie, Guidry and company. Some of the guys (Randolph, Guidry, Tommy John) were still playing when I started seriously following the team in 85/86, but I'd have loved to see them in their prime.

I was really hoping this was the year Donnie Baseball would get a ring, even if it was as the hitting coach and not as a player. I think that disappoints me more than anything, that my favorite player of all time won't get a ring this year.

How would your treatment differ if you wore a red sox shirt in yankee stadium as opposed to a yankees shirt at fenway?

I agree, Donnie deserved the ring with the Yanks. Still remember the day when they signed McDowel and thinking, this is the year.

a.) both stadiums are almost 1/3 the other's fans almost any time they meet
b.) two separate sports writers wrote this week that they took off schilling jerseys at the Stadium for fear of safety
c.) it happens at fenway too, sure - it's mutual, that's why it's the bleachers

This is pretty funny.

What about when they signed Jim Abbott? Everybody was saying that he was going to win the Cy Young that year.

That no-hitter was out of control.

Then there was Roberto Kelly, the future of the Yankees. People were so upset when they traded him to the Reds for O'neill. We all know how that turned out.

Remember Mel Hall, wish his slow trots around the bases? I'm surprised pitchers didn't throw at him every game.

Wow, I totally forgotten about Roberto Kelly. I was for sure that he was going to be one of the greats. The trade for o'neil was pure genius.

Thanks for those that gave congrats.

I still remember watching the 86 series in wearing my Sox jacket. I just hope the result doesn't end up the same

I don't think it's so much that everybody suddenly loves the Red Sox. It's just that so many people have always hated the Yankees -- so when somebody's beating them they come out of the woodwork.

Besides, the post-season is always about jumping on the bandwagon. For the eighty percent of us whose teams DON'T make it, we pick new ones to cheer for. Boston had the benefit of so many people disliking the Yankees and a great story to go along with it -- so of course they're going to have more people cheering for them. That doesn't mean they're bandwagon fans. It doesn't even mean they're FANS, in the technical sense of the word. I know that I'll still be cheering for the Cubbies and the Giants in the spring. But that doesn't mean I think it's absolutely fantastic for Boston to beat the Yankees.

For those that are bandwagon fans you are not only on the bandwagon for liking the Sox but also for disliking the Yankees.
