Yes,

I agree lets discuss real news about LCA's expansions in the here and now, not how TKE colonized a community college in florida in the 1960's.

Real news and real posts that are on topic please.

Thanks

Daniel, thanks for reminding me, to many long working hours.

I hope Duke comes to fruitation once again. I think SDSU from whart I have heard via G C is doing a show there.

I think what Erik is trying to say, is that He has a tremendous amount of respect for LXA and likes to relate TKE screw ups so that maybe we dont.;)

I too wish that there was more info on expansion, Colony/Rechartering and even Chapters that are in trouble and an explanation as many of us dont know and may be of help if possible.

Current Colonies

Does anyone know how things went with the colonies that were supposed to be established this fall? Did all six of the planned expansion sites take place? Just wondering.

One of my pals got a letter in August about the York College colonization, he later sent me a link to York COllege that LCA was listed in the IFC roster, obviously this did occur.

As to the other 5, I have no idea

Idaho, weber state, Utah, Stl College of Pharmacy & EWU...

No clue.

Actually I what I ment to ask was if we colonized at Utah and Weber State? I know that Idaho happened in October, StLCoP happened in September as well as York. I belive Eastern Washington was in October as well.

Hey i saw on the York IFC page where it says Lambda Chi Alpha but next to it, it says, (Local Fraternity). Does that mean there is local using our name or is it saying that because they are a colony? Little confused.

http://www.ycp.edu/campus/handbook/960.htm

Lambda Chi Alpha (Local Fraternity)
Lambda Chi Alpha is an active social and service fraternity open to male students at York College. Lambda Chi Alpha takes pride in its social events, athletics, individuality, and competitive spirit. With new ideas and activities, along with improving the old, this fraternity leads, not follows.

As far as I know Utah and Weber St. never officially colonized yet. I was supposed to go help with their initiation but they could never get a date set where everyone could make it. I believe they are going to do it in January, but I'm not sure about that.

Sorry, I'm on the fiance's computer. It's EM1843.

Expansion News

Well LCA updated the national website again!

Expansion News
Spring 2005

Christopher Newport in Virginia (NEW)
West Chester University of Pa (lambda kappa zeta)- dormat since 1980
California San Diego

Now if the Fellow from Coastal Carolina PIKE says that Coastal Carolina of SC is going to happen this spring that makes 4. The WCU thing is a real trrend changer, we havent gone back to any state schools in PA (expect for a one year botched deal at Mansfield in 2000) ever, this is a huge trend changer for us, way to have the courage to go at it Staff at IHQ.

I expect to see F&M and Duke in the near future based on all the chatter.

San Diego

California San Diego

?

We already have a colony at San Diego State; I wonder if this new one is UC San Diego (University of California San Diego)?

It is a new one at UCSD, as mentioned in one of my ealier posts. Lambda Chi Alpha has already met with their student government to announce it. This is from their minutes:

Lambda Chi Alpha Chapter Expansion – Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity will be on campus November 17th as a part of their initial stages toward chartering at chapter at UCSD. They will be launching their Associate Member recruitment program come mid-Spring quarter to establish a Lambda Chi Colony at UCSD. Their national fraternity development consultants will be on campus as an ongoing process in the subsequent quarters and would probably like to meet with student organizations like the associated Students to gauge student climate and encourage
their recruitment.

re: York

I remember reading somewhere recently (C&C?) that we
had just colonized York College. Most likely a group there
formed a local with the intention of becoming a Zeta, so
they called the local LXA.

What happened to the colony/chapter that was at UCSD in the late 80's/early 90's? I thought they managed to charter as well.

lenoxxx 01-10-2005 06:18 PM

The Local at York had been there for quite some time, I saw it before the name change on York's website.

That was the University of San Diego, they are Delta Kappa Zeta. We will now have three chapters in the San Diego area.
