YES, this might be the first truly creepy commercial I have ever seen. When he puts the voice box up to his throat, it just makes my skin crawl. My 3 year is old is like WTF? (ok, not really WTF but you get the idea).

Not a fan of that commercial either. That one and the car getting hit in the VW commercial both bother me so much I turn it or leave the room if Im at someones house. I can't take them.

Ok, the new Altel series...that woman looks WAY too much like Catherine Zeta-Jones. It took me about 5 times seeing it to figure out it really wasn't her. And when the "Harry Connick(sp?) Jr" look-alike bowls with the Cingluar blob's head, that's kind of freaky too.

I hate those commericals. The original actors should sue for copyright infrengement. There are no "non-competetion" clauses for TV commericals. If both Cingular and Alltell want to hire Ms. Jones, then Ms. Jones should be the one in both commericals, not someone they dressed up to look like her. /hijack

I bet T-Mobile is paying her a pretty penny, and I bet that penny wouldn't be so pretty if she did a commercial for another company. Ditto with Harry Conick Jr. and the Verizon nerd. Although I am suprised they got away with using the little Cingular dude, as he's probably Trademarked.

I asked my marketing teacher about commercials that use competing brands' logos once, and she said that it's ok as long as you don't make fake claims about it. So it's ok to use the Cingular dude, but you can't make a commercial using that icon and say that a portion of Cingular's proceeds go to fund terrorism or something like that.

What about those Jello "Wiggle" commercials.

The guy with the trench coat is suppose to represent Sprint. Remember the guy who went around giving Sprint phones? I like those commercials because it gets its message across. Also because Alltel's my cell phone provider!:D

And per my cousin's husband (who works for Cingular), the blob's name is Jack.

Right. Harry Connick Jr. is the spokesperson for SunCom ("and they get it"), which apparently doesn't rank as high as Verizon, Sprint, Cingular and T-Mobile in Alltel's circles.

I love these commercials, including the legal disclaimer at the beginning.

HA! That just now came on tv! I think the one with the little boy and the dancing cow is funny, but the other ones are annoying.

I think the commercial was for Al's Steak Sauce. The guy is BBQ-ing and a bit of the sauce falls on the grill...and he tries to lick it. Next shot, he's sitting in a n ambulance sticking out his *yuck* greyish-looking cooked tongue. The most disgusting commercial I've ever seen. Makes me what to throw up thinking about it.

That is totally gross and I for one will never eat A1 Sauce again.

I don't know if it's been said (I haven't looked back that far) but the Starburst in the chemical factory where they drop the starburst into the chemical and then reach in after it and come back with no arms- that's creepy!!

Pessimist Null 06-19-2006 02:55 PM

the one that gets me now is the one where they are making steaks on grill and dude drops A-1 sause on the grillgrate and licks it off then they show him with a bandage on his tounge asking about his steak.

what horrible role model for little jr. grillers out there
