Chapter NM class numbers
Hey irishpipes, I saw (on greekrank, so I can't guarantee this is accurate) that the new member class size for Alpha Delta Pi was 159, Chi Omega 147, Tri-Delta 150, and Delta Gamma 160. I think the NM sizes for Alpha Omicron Pi, Kappa Alpha Theta, Phi Mu, and Pi Beta Phi have already been given on this thread. Does anyone know and if so, would they mind sharing the numbers for Kappa Delta and Kappa Kappa Gamma? Just curious.

I disagree with you. It's not the process, it's the entire culture, perpetuated by alumnae and actives alike. Frankly, my dear... |
The huge number of dropouts? Did I miss something between massive drop outs at a school with not realm of enough chapters and pledge classes of 150+? I wouldn't spend one second worrying about the number of girls who are too precious to accept anything except the 1 or 2 chapters they deemed worthy. And FYI, Alpha Phi are pros at colonizations and reading between the lines. Those princesses are NOT shoo ins to the colony.

I assume KD pledged quota but I don't know how many. I just know they pledged 14 Texas girls which makes me happy.

Agree that the process is the entire culture. I'm not really sure why y'all think I'm spreading rumors. These are actual stories that have been relayed to me. That's great that Alpha Phi are pros at colonization. I honestly think its great that there will be more houses on campus. My comment about people dropping out in order to look at Alpha Phi wasn't a dig at Alpha Phi (although I understand how it could have been taken that way). It was more that the stories I heard --and yes my sample size is small, was that several PNM's were so discouraged by recruitment that they felt it was best for them to drop out of the system. Not because they are "too good" for XYZ house but because they don't want to be a part of a system that they were shown. Whatever. Have fun. |

It's a little bit late to backtrack. Whatever right back at you. I believe the expression is "bless your heart". |

Probably many of those who withdrew did intend to pursue the colonization -- and many apparently did so. Around 75% of Alpha Phi's new members had participated in formal recruitment. Stats: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums...9&postcount=42 For one thing, I wouldn't be surprised if many upperclassmen withdrew during the process, especially since Ole Miss does not have an upperclassmen quota. No doubt that tent talk can take a toll. It's difficult to feel bad for those girls who approached the process with an "XYZ or bust" attitude or let tent talk guide their decisions, but perhaps some will become wiser and reconsider their decision not to participate in Greek life at Ole Miss. |
Thanks MU2Driver, appreciate it very much!
