Welcome to Tri Sigma pearlsnviolets! So glad to hear you are loving it so far. It really is a fantastic sisterhood!

Hello!
I affiliated with Tri Sigma in Fall '08 at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater
I am an active member.
I have held the position of Parliamentarian in the past, and I am currently our chapter secretary.

So now that your high-and-mighty moderator can't be rude to me or kick me out.

I'm Christine. I'm a new member. I went through arc degree in February.
I will be initiated on Founders Day.

Our lowly chapter only has 14 members. Almost 20 if you count Advisors . . . We will probably get our charter pulled within the next couple of years due to extremely low membership. Last year there were only 8 members. I believe the minimum is around 25 or something.

First, congratulations on your impending initiation & on Founders Day of all days!!!!

Second, no chapter is "lowly". You should be proud of your chapter whether it has 4 members or 100! All chapters have highs and lows when it comes to membership, and it seems you might just be in one of those low times. This is the perfect time to reach out to your AAB and National Headquarters to look over your recruitment game plan and see what you can change/improve to get those women on your campus to be excited about Tri Sigma! I would also encourage you and your sisters to remain excited about Tri Sigma. Non-greek women around you will sense that excitement or lack there of, and that will play into their ideas of being in a sorority.

Lastly, while I don't know what your issue is with the moderator of this forum, please remember she is here to make sure that this forum remains respectful and the information discussed is appropriate. She has done a great job & regardless of your differences, please keep in mind she is also your sister.

Good luck!!

Thank you, iheart. You said everything I have wanted to say.

Welcome, Christine and do keep ihearttrisigma's comments in mind when posting here. She is a very knowledgeable sister :)

I would like to add my 2 cents on this conversation.
I have been a Sigma for 30 plus years and very proud of it.
Christine, please be proud of your letters. Sounds like you are a little bitter towards our moderator. I noticed your past posts could be part of the reason.
Iheart is absolutely right. If you are not enthused about your chapter how are you going to get new members.
With being the only sorority on campus I look at the glass half full.
Good luck you won't regret it .
Sigma love, Shelley

Hi everyone!

I'm Hayley and I'm from Eta Nu, at Ramapo College of New Jersey (which no one has ever heard of, it's cool =]). I joined Spring 2009 and am currently an active member. I'm Risk Management Chair for the upcoming semester (I was last semester as well).

:) Nice to meet you all!

Welcome Hayley!

I actually have heard of Ramapo College, and love the eta nu chapter from when I visited there during the 2008/2009 academic year. You have a phenomenal chapter!

Hi everyone

My sig is a little misleading, I am not the mom of 2 sigmas, but a sigma who has two little ones (not so much little anymore - 3rd and 5th grade). I was one of the founding members of Zeta Mu at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I now teach Algebra and Geomety in Massachusetts.

Theresa

sigmaceli 11-02-2010 01:41 PM

That's awesome, Theresa! We're happy to have you join our ranks. I visited Zeta Mu in 2008 as a consultant, and they were a fun, dynamic chapter. Of course, recruitment is a challenge because of location, but they are a VERY hard-working group of women.

Where in Mass. are you located now?

ShyViolet 11-02-2010 02:27 PM

^ Cool! How'd you find Fairbanks (hope you weren't sent there in the dead of winter!)? I graduated in December 2003 and haven't been back in awhile - I do miss UAF and Zeta Mu!
