How that works out exactly, and how Desmond would be aware of it, I don't know. Or maybe he's not aware of what happened, he just knew he had to get back at Locke for something.

Makes sense. I've read someone's theory that, because of how Des responds to electromagnetism, Island-Des traded places with alt-timeline-Des, and that's why (1) Island Des thought MIB/Not-Locke was John Locke (and not MIB), and (2) LA-Des knew to run over LA-Locke. Your idea that Des was getting revenge fits nicely with this theory.

Maybe the two timelines are running concurrently, and the Des that ran over Locke is aware of both timelines (and, therefore, aware of what has happened to his island counter-part). Maybe? :confused: I dunno, just thinking out loud here.

I've come to realize that the only other person we have not seen in the sideways timeline is the other researcher from Widmore's boat that came with Charlotte and Daniel, the Black English woman (I forgot her name:o).

I forgot her name, too. But I liked her character. It took her like three episodes to die though lol

Hmm... I hadn't really thought about not seeing her in the sideways timeline. But admittedly, I had kinda forgotten about her. (We've not seen her since season 4.)
