Recite the Black paragraph. (example.. We believe the true elements...)
|
We believe that the essential elements of true brotherhood are love, charity and esteem; love, that binds our hearts with the sturdy chords of fraternal affection; charity; that is impulsive to see virtues in a brother and slow to reprove his faults; esteem, that is respectful to the honest convictions of others and that refrains from treading upon that which is sacred to spirit and conscience; these are the triple obligations of every brother in the bond

Omicron Chapter Grand Prytani
Quote:
I thought Frater Murphy was the Exec. VP for TKE, not the Grand Prytanis. Grand Prytanis is a volunteer position. EVP is a paid position. Just another guess that Frater Labranche was the most recent Omicron Grand Prytanis. |
You are correct DNTKE! I got my facts and words mixed up. Thanks for correcting me.:D

TKE Bell's
Here is a question for you or EC. I don't have an answer, but would be interested in how this started.
Why do so many TKE Chapters have a bell at the house. Either in the yard or on a trailer to take to ball games and parades. Its sort of like the Pikes and firetrucks or KA's and cannons. One to ponder? |
Re: TKE Bell's

them, mostly from old schools or churches. Several fraternities would swipe the Teke Bell, often dumping it into the river. A goodly number of chapters had them, and old TEKE magazines might be a clue or some old codger older than me may know. I would say U of MD (chapter now inactive) was certainly on of the first. Some chapters built trailers and had elaborate bells. A good idea, some places it worked. Some TKE chapters have fire trucks, like alpha upsilon chapter at Fort Hays, in KS, home of Grand Council member Dr. Herb Songer. Erik of Denver |

What states have never had a TKE chapter or colony?
|
Quote:
ever invited TKE to enter the state--so far as I know. AND Alaska stands alone as the only other state to have never had a TKE chapter or colony. We have been granted permission to enter Alaska, joining Sig Ep, SAE and Lambda Chi, but so far we have rejected it, mostly due to the distance involved. There are lots of Teke alumni in Alaska, especially Anchorage. TKE has had several colonies in Montana, and each time we seem to have shot ourselves in the foot. Montana has three sites for NIC fraternities, but none seem to be extremely desirable places nor eager to have TKE on their campus either. Only Sigma Phi Epsilon has chartered in all fity states, and they are not active in all of them now. TKE is now orphaned in Utah, Wyoming, and South Dakota as well as absent in the two aforementioned states. It does not appear that any change is eminent in this direction. |
Correct!
