By "run," I mean we go as fast as she's able. We'll start off at about 12MPH, slow to about 9.5MPH for a half mile, then we average around 7.5 for the remaining 1.5. It's not very good exercise for me, but we do crate during the day, so the lab in her needs to do something.

As far as getting to where she is, it's been a process. We started taking walks where I insisted she stay beside or behind me and on one side of me the whole time. She pretty much just does that now. I've taken her on actual walks of over 10 miles--we live next to a city lake with a 10 mile bike/foot trail around it.

Lately though, with this heat, I'm only able to take her out really early in the morning. Don't want a heat stroke or anything like that.

Forgot to update for yesterday:

Did a 20 minute cardio workout (can't remember the name) from Exercise TV, then some weights and abs.

ThetaPrincess24 07-18-2010 02:09 PM

I'm leaving in five minutes to go and do a half hour on the elliptical, a half hour on the bike, and an hour of fusion class (yoga & pilates mix).

lovespink88 07-20-2010 09:00 AM

Not too much yesterday, just walking. I actually redid my walk on mapmyrun.com and it turns out I spend a total of 3.25 miles walking in getting too and from work. I took a bus part of the way yesterday though so I only walked about 2.5 miles then. Then last night fiance and I walked about another 2 miles...so 4.5 miles of walking yesterday!

Drolefille 07-20-2010 09:08 AM

I've been doing mapmywalk.com lovespink!

For much shorter distances right now :p

lovespink88 07-20-2010 09:45 AM

lol, I had no idea there was a mapmywalk...should have Googled that one!

ETA: Guess it doesn't matter which one I use, they're like identical lol

Drolefille 07-20-2010 09:48 AM

It's all the same site I think. Once you actually track it as a workout, and not just map the distance, you can specify how exactly you did the activity.

Map my walk, run, hike, bike, etc all seem to be options at the top.

lovespink88 07-20-2010 09:54 AM

Ahhh, okay, gotcha. Yeah, I see the options now!

XAntoftheSkyX 07-20-2010 10:17 AM

Haven't done anything today or yesterday, but when you rehearse for a minimum of 4 hours the other days of the week and a maximum of 12, I think I can get a break.

ThetaPrincess24 07-20-2010 04:40 PM

I am getting ready to go and do an hour of pilates matwork !

starang21 07-20-2010 06:07 PM

2.75 miles on the treadmill

maybe something a little later on tonite.

AlwaysSAI 07-20-2010 08:03 PM

Back at the gym yesterday after a week long break.

65 minutes on the elliptical.

ADqtPiMel 07-20-2010 08:29 PM

10 mile run this morning!

lovespink88 07-22-2010 12:15 AM

3.25 miles of walking in my commute, a mile run and 15 min on the bike.

ThetaPrincess24 07-22-2010 07:48 PM

1 hour of pilates reformer class & speed walking past annoying sales people working at the mall kiosks to avoid having to talk to any of them.

sceniczip 07-22-2010 10:38 PM

I swam for about 30 minutes, mostly laps with some water aerobics as well.

lovespink88 07-22-2010 10:42 PM

Lazy today. Only walked 2 miles (and only cause I had to).

AOII_LB93 07-23-2010 01:47 PM

Wow, how have I missed this thread? 1 hour of 24 lift and 1 hour Zumba...and I'm spent.

BetteDavisEyes 07-23-2010 04:27 PM

P90X. I've been doing P90X for over a year and have loved the results! Unfortunately, because of the bad back and looming surgery, I've had to cut back and modify the workout so my progress has slowed down.

lovespink88 07-23-2010 10:03 PM

Cleaned my apartment, packed, and moved for 3 hours!

Miriverite 07-23-2010 10:46 PM

P90X Chest & Back + Ab Ripper X. God, that was insane.

AXOmom 07-23-2010 11:25 PM

Helped shepard, herd, corral (pick your verb) a group of 4th graders through their last day of VBS which included water games and a carnival, and then I helped tear the whole thing down, but I was rewarded with pizza and candy, so I don't think my body came out ahead. My stomach's super happy though.

IrishLake 07-24-2010 12:09 AM

pushed my son a godawful long way in his stroller from a parking lot to the indians game. then we ran thrugh the rain to get back to our car.

that totally counts!

whiteandblack 08-02-2010 12:39 AM

dreamseeker 08-03-2010 06:35 PM

nittanygirl 08-03-2010 07:06 PM

A mile on the elliptical & some random small lifting

christiangirl 08-03-2010 08:56 PM

I'm going to kickboxing class today. I'm doing it. I'm getting up right now!!

sweetmagnolia 08-03-2010 09:19 PM

Walked around shopping (probably a couple miles), ran three miles

Jill1228 08-04-2010 12:15 AM

2 miles on the elliptical and some weight lifting

RaggedyAnn 08-04-2010 01:47 AM

I went and apparently it gave me so much energy, I've gone from exhausted to wide awake at 2am.

lovespink88 08-04-2010 04:32 PM

Week 4 Day 1 of Couch 2 5K.

And I have to say Week 3 Day 3 to Week 4 Day 1 is an awful big jump. So tired.

nittanygirl 01-03-2011 12:04 PM

Time to resurface this thread to help encourage everyone for their New Year's Resolutions! It's always helpful/encouraging to see others getting fit!

What I did today: Woke up & did 45 minutes of yoga & 15 minutes of ballet bar exercises.

My new plan (my old one was so boring I could hardly be forced to do it) for exercise & fitness includes:
- Trying to get into yoga a bit and integrating that with my old ballet exercises. One of my main goals is to just tone up my legs and get them back to where they used to be when I was a ballerina/cheerleader/gymnastics coach. I actually found a good Youtube video for beginners with the yoga stuff in it so it gives me something to follow.
- A "Gym Day" where I actually trek down to the gym and do some time either on the bike or elliptical for cardio/endurance & also hope to mix this with a little bit of light weights. Possibly thinking of this as separate days, but I know I won't want to go down to the gym all the time, especially in the snow & not to mention I don't have time for this each day.
- Walking. Once it gets nice out I'm definitely going to have a morning walk. I live right beside a very large park.
- Aerobics. Either on the Wii or finding a YouTube video to follow

Since getting bored and dreading the boredom is something that throws me off a lot, I'm going to mix these things up over various days.
Here's too a new fitness plan & hoping I can make it work! Good luck to everyone else who's got related resolutions as well!

I recently started a 30 day Bikram yoga challenge. I'm on day 3 and I think I'm a bit nuts. Ninety minutes of hot yoga every day is super challenging!

I just started the same thing! I am currently alternating between loving it and questioning what I got myself into.

I always question myself halfway through the standing series! I went 3x a week when I was in grad school, but where I live now had no studio until last month. My body hates me right now, but I'm excited to stick with it.

LOL cause I never finished this.

I walked a little over 3 miles today. I did The Biggest Loser Wii game yesterday, so I get a break :)

ETA: I think I'll post the routine I'm going to try to start following too...

- Gym at least 2 days a week, before work.
- Wii exercise or a work out video another two days a week.
- I'm also going to try my best to walk to the train. Lately I've been walking two blocks to the bus, then taking the bus to the train, and on my way home, I call someone to pick me up. If I replace that ride and the bus with all walking, I will burn 1250 calories a week, JUST by going to and from work. It's so easy, yet I hate it right now because I can't stand cold weather lol

PNM20 01-04-2011 12:06 AM

I typically do Zumba (at home) or some sort of fitness glass at the gym/plus some cardio.

Tulip86 01-04-2011 06:08 AM

I do yoga at home, I have a 1 1/2 hour kickboxing class every wednesday and try to go to the gym on fridat if my muscles aren't too sore from kickboxing.
Luckily my job requires me to walk all day.
