She was going to sing the song McPhee sang tonight.... who I thought was very ok.....I'm starting to believe the themes are not helping this group at all

Elliott's hair growing out a little bit is making him look much better.

LeslieAGD 04-11-2006 10:07 PM

I loved Taylor's performance... So much fun!

If the fix wasn't in before that travesty, it's in now. I'm giving up and heading straight for the grassy knoll now, tin-foil hat in hand. Anyone wish to join me?

Chris was okay, Elliott had flashes of brilliance and I smiled at him, and I still just love Taylor.

However, I'm guilty of watching Ace walk on stage and whine about the lack o'vacuum! Speaking of Ace, I adored Brian's reactions to his "suggestions". Too funny.

Off-topic, but I love the quote in your siggy. I was a huge Bush fan as a tween.

Oh I've been there since Season 3... but that's another story.

I still think they really want a guy this year so they are ditching all the awesome girls first while you leave the Pickle for the top 3. You knock her off the Top 2 and viola... you have a Ruben/Clay 'sode all over again... well sorta... in terms of a male top two.

But OMG... "what do you mean... on paper?"

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Isn't this getting old to ANYONE in 19Evil land?

LOL--I was never really into them other than Glycerine, but they play Machinehead at our hockey games and I just got hooked on that part.

I visited the grassy knoll in Season 2 after KL left and Clay lost to Ruben, rented space there once Jennifer Hudson left S3 and bought my timeshare before the S4 top 12. :D :p :D

tinydancer 04-12-2006 08:49 AM

I think somewhere Freddie Mercury is just saying:
WTF???

That was a terrible show.

ADPiShannan 04-12-2006 08:57 AM

I don't know who will go home. It's anyones guess. Noone was really that excellent, so anyone can go.

I was all excited about the songs and ended turning it through a lot of them because of boredom.

MysticCat 04-12-2006 11:23 AM

I only caught the last 10 minutes, but as a long-time Queen fac (yes, I actually remember hearing the songs when they first played on the radio) the recap made me rather glad I had missed what looked like a real horror show.

I guess no one had the cojones to sing "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy."

I doubt it was an option. I'm betting that they were given a choice of X number of songs from the new greatest hits release and that was that. I would have paid top PPV dollar though if they would have performed any of these, in no particular order:

1. Teo Torriate
2. Dragon Attack
3. Bicycle Race
4. I Want to Break Free
5. Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy
6. Save Me
7. Hammer to Fall
8. I'm in Love With My Car
9. Keep Yourself Alive
10. A Kind of Magic
11. Rock It/Prime Jive
12. (and just for more kicks and giggles) The Great Pretender

LOL! Of if someone had done the Theme from "Flash Gordon."

Flash - Ah - He'll save ev'ry one of us!

adpiucf 04-12-2006 03:38 PM

Flash... isn't that Ace's younger brother?

The above quote is yet another reminder that one should not drink while reading GC. Thank you for reading this public service reminder.

Darn you girl, don't you dare make me laugh so hard! :D

My money is currently on Paris.

I'd love it if Ace went home.

kddani 04-12-2006 07:59 PM

Bucky or Pickler would make me thrilled if they were kicked. Though i'm not holding my breath.

I have the feeling Paris will go, though I was pretty entertained by her last night.

I think that AI has really alienated a lot of various demographics this season, and I think that hurt Mandisa and I think it will hurt Paris as well.

kansas13 04-12-2006 08:20 PM

I would love it if either Kellie or Bucky left too, but my money is on Ace. If he does go Mr. kansas13 will be jumping for joy. I just think that because the judges were so hard on him that's going to be his downfall...plus, he really wasn't that good too!

Kicked or not, as long as they're gone.

Rod Stewart songbook choices next week. I love me some Rod, but all songbook all night? Sigh.

WTF is up with these over the hill acts that none of the contestants and most of the viewers never listened to?

I guess instead of doing a billion Ford Focus commercials (they're a little less obvious than they used to be), they're now making money out of promoting these has-beens who are releasing albums of greatest hits, etc. soon.

kddani 04-12-2006 09:30 PM

THANK GOD!

NutBrnHair 04-12-2006 09:30 PM

Bottom 3

Elliott, Ace & Bucky

BYE BYE BUCKY!

ADPiShannan 04-13-2006 09:15 AM

I really wanted it to be Ace. I am tired of looking at him already.

I hope the top 5 are: Elliott, Katherine, Kelly, Taylor, and Chris.

Top 3 for me: Taylor, Chris, and Katherine

Number 1: Chris

I like Kelly, but she isnt amazing, just funny to hear. If she gets top 5, I am fine with her going in 5th.

Its funny how her, Chris, and Taylor have never been in the bottom 3. Wonder if they ever will?

Next week get rid of: Ace or Parris

G8Ralphaxi 04-13-2006 11:14 AM

OK, America, now y'all need to stop making Elliot's mama cry. Quit putting him in the bottom three while you keep Little Miss "The-Peroxide-Has-Melted-My-Brain-Cells" safe.

I don't know what it is about her, but I get so stressed out watching that tiny little lady in the audience waiting to see if her son gets kicked off the show.

Miss Kellie Country is not in the bottom either because A) she's the "vote for the worst" candiate, or B) 19E is keeping her out of it. No one I know can stand her...I just don't get why she's still there!

kddani 04-13-2006 11:47 AM

with as dumb as Kellie acts, I wonder if the Scientologists have gotten to her and sucked her brains out like they did to Katie Holmes

KatieKate1244 04-13-2006 12:49 PM

Someone here mentioned before that Kellie is too much like Carrie Underwood, and that America won't vote for the same person twice. I think that's a pretty good idea, as in Kellie won't win, which makes me very happy.

At this point, I'm leaning towards either Katherine or Taylor to win, even though I do think Chris is the best singer in the group. But he honesetly just isn't doing anything for me.

Next two to go (and it seems to be the overall opinion) Paris and Ace.

AXO Alum 04-13-2006 02:41 PM

I wish Taylor would go -- his voice isn't so bad, but it is painful to watch him "perform" - its like he is having continuous muscle spasms! He can take Ace & Paris with him too -- but my bets are still for Paris to be at least top 3.

I still love Elliott - jacked up teeth or not - his voice is wonderful. Chris is also a favorite. I would throw in Katherine to make my ideal top 3.

dani - you are so not right in the head - as if Kelly could even say scientologist! Can't you hear her now "wha? whats thayt? I ain't never heard of such... you said it wuz a sci-ent-a-mol-ogiser? Ain't that what Tom Cruise started? You know the one with the brother with problems in that movie Its Raining Men?" LOL :D

tinydancer 04-14-2006 08:51 AM

I don't know if it's because the "themes" have been a little weird, but I really have not been overwhelmed this time. I think one of the main problems is that some singers keep trying to sing in a key that is not right for their voice.
(Yes, Katherine, I mean you. Your high notes are painful and not on pitch.)

AXO Alum, I am with you 100% about Taylor. His voice is pretty good, and it's great that he's so passionate and energetic... but I just can't stand to watch him! I'm afraid he's going to hurt himself.

I am totally over Ace and Paris. And Kelly just has to go. Pop stars have to be able to give at least *quasi-intelligent* interviews. She can't even pronounce salmon!

Then again, Britney was popular for a while. Quasi-intelligent isn't a word I'd use to describe her....

"I think, like, we should just trust our president (smack, smack, smack) in every decision that he, like, makes and we should just, like, support that (smack, smack, smack)."

OrchidAlum 04-14-2006 02:14 PM

Lol. That Britney quote is hysterical. :D

But, difficult as it may seem, Kelly makes Britney look pretty smart by comparison.

It's all relative, I suppose.

I was thinking the same thing ZTAngel, but the first person that popped into my head was Jessica Simpson.

"How can Chicken of the Sea be tuna when it says Chicken on the can?" "Do Buffalo's really have wings? I have never seen them."

I think Kellie and her are in the same boat when it comes to intelligence. I just would like to see Kellie go because I really do think she is smart, but she is just playing this game. Plus, she really isn't that good of a singer. While they are on the same wave of intelligence I have to admit Jessica Simpson sings 10 times better then Kellie Pickler!!

KDAngel 04-15-2006 02:22 AM

I think Chris is an awesome singer and I totally think he's great, but I don't even watch his whole performance anymore. I think he's a rockstar, very Creed-like to me, and I just don't get into him as the American Idol. I dunno. I know he's gonna have an awesome career ahead of him, but I don't want him to win...

kddani 04-18-2006 08:39 PM

thank god this week's theme is decent.... everyone sounds good.

Kellie looks like she's drugged.... she really isn't all that attractive.
