The NYPD is investigating the threatening letters that are being sent to the couple. Taye and Idina were married last year. They met in 1995, when they appeared on Broadway in the musical “Rent.” Next year they will be starring in the movie version of the musical.


Mike Tyson needs help! The 38 year old boxer is living in Arizona with his latest girlfriend and their two year old son. His career is in shambles and he’s depressed about losing his fortune. Tyson had a $400 million fortune and now he owes money to at least 246 creditors. Tyson has been abusing drugs (cocaine) and he’s running up debt. His erratic behavior has scared a lot of his friends and they realize he needs help.


Sometimes you can be too famous even if you try to hide. Queen Latifah tried to go incognito to a girl’s night out lesbian party. Her hat was pulled over her face, but she was still recognized. It’s hard to go unnoticed in New York just ask Mr. Star Jones-- Al Reynolds. As soon as he got back from the honeymoon with Star he was dressed in a tuxedo hanging out with his male friends. Rapper O.D.B.’s wife Icelene scored a major victory in court recently. Icelene Jones has been put in charge of the late rapper’s estate. Icelene has three children by the rapper and she had to prove she was his legal wife. At first, she couldn’t find the marriage license and a lot of people thought she was lying. Well, Icelene was telling the truth. She married O.D.B. a.k.a. Russell Jones on July 25th, 1991. Icelene is battling it out with the rapper’s other baby mommas. She had the body cremated to prevent any DNA testing. Icelene says she has to take care of her children and as far as she is concerned, the so called other children don’t exist. According to sources there are nine other children, but can the mothers prove it to get their share of his fortune? O.D.B.’s mom, Cherry Jones, is very upset about the latest court ruling. She is close to four of the baby mommas. She claims Icelene had not lived with her son in years and that she was the one who made sure he ate and took care of him. This just proves that when you are the wife you have the privileges.


Jay-Z is furious about the latest rumors regarding him and video host Free from BET’s 106 and Park. She is not pregnant by him. As a matter of fact, she doesn’t look pregnant. She appears to have gained weight over the past few weeks. This rumor was everywhere and now Jay-Z wants to find the culprit and sue. He is still with Beyonce. The rumor probably started when people questioned his closeness with the video host, but she is not having his baby.


First she falls down while performing on live television and now her breast is exposed. During a recently publicity tour with Destiny’s Child, Michelle Williams was posing with Beyonce and Kelly and she was photographed with her left breast slipping out of her dress. The photo is making the rounds of the internet as well as a photo with Beyonce with no underwear on.


Oprah is coming out with a new magazine. There’s the Oprah Magazine, Oprah at Home and now she’s coming out with Oprah for young girls.


The romance between Halle Berry and actor Michael Ealy is moving along. They met on the set of the Oprah Winfrey produced movie, Their Eyes Are Watching God. She’s 38; he’s 31 and they are moving into a Malibu beach home. BINCH!!!!:mad:


Is Ashanti torn between two lovers? In one corner there’s rapper Nelly who she’s grown close to. Sources say he dotes on her all the time; and in the other corner there’s industry mogul Irv Gotti. Gotti made her a star. Friends say Ashanti really wants to be with Nelly, but she doesn’t want to hurt Gotti’s feelings because he left his wife and started her career.


Actress Kerry Washington (Ray, She Hate Me) is getting married. Washington recently became engaged to actor David Moscow.


Tyra Banks has a new love. Chalk up another basketball player for the supermodel. Tyra used to date Chris Webber of the Sacramento Kings, but they broke up earlier this year. It’s award season and actor Jamie Foxx is cleaning up big time. Foxx recently won the National Board of Reviews “Best Actor” award for his role as Ray Charles in the movie Ray. He has been nominated for his role in the independent movie Redemption. The 20th Annual Independent Spirit Awards air February 26th. Actress Kimberly Elise is also up for an award for her work in the Bishop T.D. Jakes Woman Thou Art Loosed.


Is Bobby Brown going to reunite with New Edition? His new reality show, Being Bobby Brown, debuts next month on the Bravo channel and he has been talking about reuniting with Ralph, Ronnie, Johnny, Mike and Ricky for a New Edition reunion. New Edition has a new album out, but you would never know it. Signing to P. Diddy’s label has not been a good move for the guys. The Bad Boy record label has dropped the ball on this project. They handled the project and the album all wrong. Not once did they try to market the album to their core audience-- people over 25. Right now Bobby and New Edition need each other so maybe a reunion will happen.


Fat Albert’s greatest hits the ultimate DVD collection arrives in stores on the 14th. This is set to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the cartoon classic. The DVD features seven hours of episodes and a 12 page companion notebook. The big screen movie version of Fat Albert with Keenan Thompson opens on Christmas Day.


At the movies it’s Ocean’s 12 with George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Bernie Mac, Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta Jones and Don Cheadle. Bernie recently returned to work on the set of his television show, The Bernie Mac Show. New episodes of the show debut January 14th, Friday nights at 8pm followed by repeats at 8:30pm. Bernie was also honored with a “Best Actor” award at the Family Television Awards. Bernie was been sick for the past few weeks suffering from exhaustion.


Brian McKnight Nude? Yes! Journalist Jawn Murray recently interviewed the singer and he talked about a nude photo shoot for a magazine. Even though he will be nude, there will be no front shots. Brian has a new album coming out next year called Gemini. Apparently Brian was quite comfortable going nude. Back in 1997, he bared all for his video “Anytime.” Talk about shedding that good guy image.


Filming starts soon on Usher’s new movie, Dying for Dolly. In the movie Usher plays a bodyguard for a mobster and he falls in love with the mobster’s daughter. This is not Usher’s first acting role. He also appeared in the movies She’s all That and The Faculty. In other Usher news, let’s hope winning all those awards hasn’t gone to is head. At the recent “GQ Men of the Year Awards” Usher demanded everyone off the red carpet so he could walk on it alone, as he made his entrance. Why is Usher acting like a diva? Is it the influence of girlfriend Naomi Campbell?

Nia Long is on the December issue of Essence. Vivica Fox is on the January issue. It usually hits the news stands around the middle of the month, but subscribers get it earlier than that. I'll have to pick it up in a few weeks.

I'm not mad at Icelene - ok, except for the name, but that's her moma's fault:rolleyes: .

Anyway, to me, this is an illustration of what can happen when you have kids out of wedlock. They don't receive anything from the "alleged" father's estate unless he has a will or has otherwise provided for them through a trust, or some other mechanism. How can you be mad at her for looking out for HER OWN kids before she looks out for anybody else:confused: . That's what a good moma does, she takes care of her kids.

If the other babies momas were looking out for their own kids, they would have established paternity when ODB was alive. As soon as the kid was born, get the tests done, take him to court, etc.. It's a shame that ODB died at a relatively young age, but just b/c your daddy was famous doesn't make you any less of a bast*rd [dictionary def] if you're born out of wedlock. Being legally married has its' benefit, including the legal presumption that any kids born to the wife during the marriage are the husband's kids. When you make the choices needed to put you in a situation where you're raising kids of a man who is married to someone else, you have to pay the consequences.

PS - Didn't ODB know about condoms???? Or did he just have strong swimmers:confused:

As true as that may be, you KNOW if your man has babies with other women. Even if it's just a rumor, that suspicion stays in the back of your mind. Of course you are gonna look out for kids, but to go as far as cremating a man just to prevent the other kids from establishing paternity and seeking money from his estate is a bit evil. Of course she should solidify her own children's financial futures, but why be greedy and take food from other kids' mouths? If that was their father, whether he "claimed" them or not, it still won't change their DNA. She may think that it's over, but it isn't.

And what about good human beings? What do they do? Does being a good mother mean that you can't also be a good human being and child of the Creator? Because I can't believe that someone who is a good human being and child of the Creator would do something so hateful and spiteful all in the name of looking out for her kids and being a good mother. Sometimes, there is a bigger picture. I love my family and would do almost anything for them, but that does not lessen my love for humankind and justice. IMO, what she did was not just and was not righteous. Not even a little bit. Wicked is the word that comes to mind.

A good mother would show her children how to prevail JUSTLY, not spitefully, and definitely not out of fear. Because if she wasn't scared, why'd she do it? You just don't do stuff like that. It's not the children's fault that they were born out of wedlock nor is it their fault that no paternity tests were done. However, ultimately it will be them who suffer from her actions.

That's the truth Ruth! Someone close to Icelene's should have told her to watche Maury...they have all kinds of tests to figure out paternity...just because she cremated the body doesn't mean it can't be done. Shoot, Icelene may be the one who gets played...how she gonna feel when they run that test and it turns out that not all of HER kids belong to ODB (we've seen it on Maury..I'm 1000% sure...oops - face cracked all over the floor!)

God don't like ugly...these other kids are her childrens siblings...if she cared an ounce about ODB that means loving ALL of his kids & doing right by all of them.

That is a shame that she created the body SOLELY to deny paternity test. :(

I hope she realizes that you can obtain DNA from lots of sources - ie ODB's toothbrush, a cigarette butt, toothpick, etc. If an autopsy was performed, she best believe that there are som ODB tissue samples/blood that didn't make it to the incinerator.

Aparently Icelene has never watched Forensic Files on A&E. :o
