ThetaDancer 08-16-2008 03:25 PM

Pilates class bright and early, then ran a 5k.

EE-BO 08-16-2008 08:13 PM

Made it back to the pool just in time before the thunderstorms and knocked out another 18 laps. The cool and unexpected part is that I did not need much warmup at all before doing speed work- it seems that the big warmup this morning was still giving a benefit hours later.

It only counts if you washed the roof too :p

That is the one thing I hate about washing my Tahoe. I only wash it every 3-4 months anyway, but I have probably only really done a thorough job on the roof 2 or 3 times since I bought the thing.

ran/walked 7 miles. Mostly walked. Thought it was going to rain, instead it was just REALLY hot and humid. I almost died. Damn weathermen.

1 hour of racquetball followed by a killer 30 minute full body workout with my trainer. Anyone else ever done one-legged squats? I got my introduction today, and I am some kind of sore- the good kind.

Only when I was working as a trainer. And then only when I was either demonstrating them for a client, or if I was in a train-the-trainer session and one of the other trainers was making me do them. :D They are brutal, and I never have been really good at forcing myself to do something that wasn't at least a little bit fun!

EE-BO 08-19-2008 08:48 PM

They are definitely brutal! I had a mishap this weekend and scraped a lot of skin off one of my hands. So I cannot swim until it scabs over, nor can I do any exercises where I have to hold a bar with both hands. I think the one legged squats were part of my "punishment" since I am sure there are other things I could have done.

But at least I picked a good week to get hurt. Thunderstorms all week- so I could not have swum anyway, and today instead I had a 2 mile run at a very good fast pace courtesy of the 85 degree weather with a cool breeze.

I am contemplating going further tomorrow at a slower pace. Any runners out there who could comment there? I started running again 3 months ago and worked up to 2 miles at about an 8:30 pace. Today I was on about a 7:15 pace. Is it better to slow down and try for more distance, or keep lowering the pace for now before I aim for more distance? My eventual goal is to get back to my college routine of running twice a week and doing 4 miles in 28 minutes.

Tinia2 08-19-2008 08:59 PM

Took two hours of spin and 30 minutes in the sauna.

EE-BO 08-19-2008 09:06 PM

2 hours of spin?!?! Wow! That is impressive.
