In her letters? Ok now that is really beyond reason...seems like she could've at least had the sense to change shirts, since she was going to be showing everyone boobage anyway.

I'm not modest in general...I just don't get embarrassed easily so I don't care but I STILL never wanted to show body parts. I have no problem showing cleavage all day (though there is such a thing as classy sexy...like a cleavage shirt with a short skirt is a no no...just wear it with JEANS!...or a modest shirt with a short skirt), but they still stay in the shirt.

Maybe I really am just lazy when I drink.

Okay, NutBrnHair - you win. That has got to be the best post thus far in 2008!!!!

Chi Omegas never rest!

Oh, I don't know. It seems that in the intervening 20 years Chi Omegas have improved their programming in this area - note the following quote from ESPN:http://espn.go.com/page2/s/caple/020409.html

After winning a championship, football teams must douse the coach in Gatorade with the same enthusiasm and glee with which they would water down a Chi Omega during a wet T-shirt contest.

I knew a girl (notice, I didn't say friend), who pledged a chapter at Ohio State midway through her sophomore year. During spring break, she did the same....entered a wet t-shirt contest. Don't remember if she won but the chapter president happened to be in the crowd.

Not only was she pulled aside, but the Pres told her she would be brought in front of Standards and would do everything to be kicked out. She was.

Happens fairly often. A few years back, ZTA Jenna Morasca (won one of the Survivors) was nude with another female in Playboy. Prior to that she had talked about loving hazing when she was in her chapter in a Stuff Magazine interview. She might've even still been an active undergrad them. I know that other people have mentioned other greeks that have been in Playboy. (I only mention her specifically because she's the only one I know the name of)

And this matters because....?

I have trouble understanding all the panic about female nudity. Especially from sorority women. Sororities are often thought of as "pro-woman". Having this phobia about naked or partially naked women implies that nudity is somehow immoral and/or gross, and we should be ashamed of our bodies.

There is actually a famous pornstar from UofA, that was greek as well.

The chapter is now defunct, but this was early 90's apparently.

Did ya'll know that Pamela Anderson is an ASA?

well someone had to bring that one up

33girl 04-03-2008 10:17 AM

LOL. The Pamela Anderson who IS an ASA (we do have one, just not "that" one) probably has a concave chest and goes to church every day or something.

cuteASAbug 04-03-2008 10:18 AM

Boobies for the Lord.

I don't think it's the nudity as much as the context. I don't think a woman would get in trouble for, say, posing for a nude painting. Or owning a nudist resort. Or being a nudist, come to that. And good Lord - look at what some of these women wear today (grabs walker and hobbles across floor) But it is the posing as a sexual object - in a forum that is NOT pro-woman - that is the problem.

Quoting for posterity.

Also, because I'm somewhat fascinated. I honestly cannot remember a time when I felt the need to expose any naughty bits after a few. Pull up my hair, dance a little crazy, and experience nirvana, but that's about it.

Even the Miss America pageant has their limits.
