Uh..models? They came in ahead of you guys in Spain, remember? Bama does have a great sense of direction. They may not know what they're doing half the time, but they're calm and get to where they need to go without going apeshit every 5 minutes. |

ETA: Don't know if anyone ever watches the Insider clips at CBS.com or not, but they can shed some light on the team dynamics and fill in a few blanks. Reality News Online gives this description of one of this weeks' clips with the models: James tells how they never had a chance to get to know Lyn & Karlyn well in the beginning because they kept to themselves or their Back Pack. Now that it is narrowed down, apparently they have stopped getting up and leaving tables that people sit down at because James says they’ve gotten to know Lyn & Karlyn better. He finds them cool and smart women, and he feels a lot of people underestimated them. They have an overall confidence that they’ll do well if they take their time, and he admits they are getting stronger and stronger. Still don't want Bama to win, though. |

probably the most anti-climatic ending. the last leg of the race, and all they did was plane and train hop. come on! they barely went through NYC. |
Agree. It was a snoozer.
Just glad Rob and Kim didn't win... all of their bickering and clawing at each other. I wonder if they'll be embarrassed seeing themselves on TV. And tonight, we counted them saying "baby" and "babe" 14 times. Ugh. I hope the models use the money wisely. Something tells me that they'll blow it all in a year or less. |

I am like the rest of many of you here - I wanted the BQs to win although I really had a soft spot in my heart for the coal miner couple.... |

How come there are so many freakin' models on this show? I hate it! |
The models won, followed by Rob and Kim. 'Bama was third.

i didnt wanna spoil it for those who hadnt seen it. OK here's my full assessment here. but really, i felt that last leg of the race was a matter of hustling your way onto the right flights, which upsets me cause they bust their asses the whole way and then its like, all we have to do is lose these folks? ive never see a full season of TAR, but im guessing thr producers say, let them have some fun its almost over? what couldve changed the outcome: 1. bama staying at the first airport and asking for flights perhaps to newark? (i dont think LGA is international) 2. rob/kim & the models grabbing a cab downtown to the CUBE vs. walking (really, from where they were at the news building to the cube was a direct path straight down one avenue. (ok i know there are others but off the top of my head) again, i felt the ending was really anticlimatic. bama was out at paris. there was no competition once they hit NY - they couldve done so much more and used better landmarks (though the cube was a good one). and getting to that school upstate was a matter of if your cabbie knew the highway up there and if the locals could direct you. the race was close in the end, but i didnt feel the excitement behind it. i was like, eh whatever. how did the teams get enough $$ for the cab ride upstate? thats a good $100+ being that to the airport itself is $45. and maybe this was edited out, but many cabs are reluctant to go even past the upper east side. harlem, brooklyn, MAYBE. garrison, NY? please! maybe the power of the video camera helps? and from a TV/ratings perspective, Bama winning wouldve made better TV. they had the most on the line for their families. they seemed to be struggling a lot in the race (i started watching mid season) and to make it in the top 3 as the first female team - amazing. their day-after interviews wouldve been more interesting than the models and overall wouldve made for a better finale. |
I am so happy the models won. Wouldn't care if Rob and Kim won. I just didn't want Bama to win. The Chos couldn't help you getting back to the states, huh? :p Was it me, or when they showed the Chos and the BQs, did you keep thinking "ya'll should have been in the finals"?
Well, I'll guest I'll wait two months for TAR All Stars! :D |
I feel like usually Amazing Race does a 2 hour ending (or 1.5 hours)....now I see why it was only an hour tonight...how boring!
I feel bad that 'Bama was out in Paris...as soon as she said they were going to Orly though I knew they were in trouble as Orly, of course, isn't an international airport. A lot of people don't realize how close Newark is to New York unless they've traveled there or know people from New York so I'm not surprised they didn't think of that. My brother lives in New York (and has for years) and I didn't know you could fly into Newark to get to New York City until I was in college and some of my friends did it because it was cheaper for them to get home. I was used to flying into JFK or White Plains. I do agree the whole thing was anti-climatic. But who's excited for All-Stars??? I've heard about people who won't be on All-Stars and some who will be (from seeing other message boards) but I don't want to spoil that for people. |

If the teams had grabbed a cab to head to the cube they would have been penalized as the clue said to travel by foot. About the cab ride, the clue said "convince a cab driver". The producers anticipated that the cabbis should have been reluctant to drive that far. I'm happy the models won. I don't like either Rob/Kim or Bama. |
Okay, was I the only who laughed with Kim slipped and fell at the clue box at the Caen airport? It was like, Bama's fully concentrating on their clue and then there's Kim in the background eating it.
As I said earlier, I would have been happy with any of the teams winning the million. Still, I really wish that the finale would have been 2 hours and filled with more roadblocks/detours/whatever instead of plane and train hopping. I wish they had a pit stop in Helsinki instead of continuing that round onto Kiev. It's funny because as they were driving up to St. Basil's, I saw the sign pointing to Peekskill and I immediately started thinking of Eastland Academy and the Facts of Life. I'm curious to see which relationships have changed in regards to the teams in the All-Stars race. Wikipedia said that they started filming roughly 3 weeks ago, and casting for TAR 12 is taking place at this moment...applications/video are due January 16th so get them in now! I'd apply, but filming's taking place when DolphinChicaDDD and OTW do America and we can't miss BayFest! ETA: I found a link that discussed confirmed and possible teams for The Amazing Race All-Stars: WARNING: IT'S A SPOILER! CLICK AT YOUR OWN RISK! The list is 4 posts down. Several teams have been confirmed as they've been spotted racing and one team's even been photographed. It's really scary seeing what lengths these people will go just to dig up information about the upcoming season: noticing contestant MySpaces have been updated recently; pageant/radio appearances; even knowing that they took time off from work! At least they make spoilers easier for the rest of us. :) |
I couldn't believe it either -- yuck! Already looking forward to next season. When does it start?

My guess is that they're going to keep TAR on Sundays but don't want to compete with the NFL Playoffs or the Super Bowl. |
