Congrats!!! I am also a member of SAI and enjoyed my time as a member. I am so excited that this opportunity opened up for you. :)
|
My niece is a member at Valdosta State.:)
|
Yay! Congratulations to you and SAI :)
I think their badge is absolutely beautiful. I've been curious as to how a chapter of SAI and/or Phi Mu Alpha would have done at OC, simply with the sheer size of the music/theatre department here. Delta Omicron is a *HUGE* deal here. |
Congrats! SAI is a GREAT org. I wish we had a chapter where I went to school.
(And, not exclusive of NPC, so if you really wanted to, you could rush again next year...just so you know).:) |
Congratulations! The SAIs are a fabulous group of girls at UGA.
|
Congratulations!

Congrats for you! Sounds like you'll be making some great friendships during your pledge time. Have a wonderful time and keep us updated!!

Congratulations to you and SAI!

We just found out that the freshmen aren't allowed to pledge until next semster :(. They are still gonna have us come to all to the social events and pledge us asap! Thanks everyone so much!

Enjoy SAI! One of our old posters, RedFox, pledged SAI at UT-K and really loved her experience. She also couldn't formally pledge for a semester, but they worked with her and still involved her in social and music events. I think she had to register for a music class each semester to maintain her membership (requirement even if you aren't a music major at her school.) She had a blast.

realizations
I was just reading http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ad.php?t=81766
and I was thinking about the similarities between her story and my own. When I didn't receive an invite back to pref during rush I was devistated. I could see the positives of the situation, but it still sucked to get cut from everywhere. I now realize that not joining a sorority has caused a chain of events that I know will positively effect my college experience. Since I didn't rush a sorority I had sooo much free time. I found out that I could still join colorguard late (it is my biggest passion but I didn't think I would have time and college marching band is drastically different from high school. I thought this was negative but it turns out to be avery positive thing). I had so much free time and I was only hanging out with 2 people ALL of the time. I felt like I was on the edge of depression. Not just from not getting into a sorority, but also because I wasn't making any new friends and had nothing to do. So I joined colorguard after much debate with myself. It turned out to be a wonderful decision for me for the second time in my life. Since joining guard I have met so many new people. I have decided to change my major to arts administration and I am very excited about it (I wouldn't have known about it except for the people I met in band). And now I AM joining a sorority, that I wouldn't have known about or been eligdible for with out marching band. I cannot wait to start rushing SAI next semester. I realize that this is kind of a long rambling post, but overall I would just like to say thank you to everyone who encouraged me along the way and told me to keep searching for my place! Thank you so much everyone! |
