Oh - sorry - let me clarify - there was ice, but like just a few pieces. Here, at many places, your drink is 99% ice, and the rest drink. It makes me crazy because I prefer a half & half mix, but people like my parents must have a full (to the rim) glass of ice... and of course crushed ice not cubes. I think its a waste of paying $2 for a drink at a restaurant ;)

Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born - it's an idea, a state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, high school football, and country music. It's being hospitable, being devoted to front porches & sweet tea, and most of all...each other. We don't become Southern - we're BORN that way.
