Personally, I wanted Ray and Yolanda to win, but I should be happy that they got as far as they did (without killing each other). But I was happy that the hippies won.

Did anyone notice how P.O. the frat boys (that weren't really frat boys) were when they lost?:o

i agree. if you come in last place then you should have been eliminated.

i knew which flags belonged to which country and would have won that last round!

What was really fun at the end was watching the faces of the other players. Monica was fit to be tied when the Hippies came in first. I don't think she would have cared if it was anyone else but them. She is probably still pissed that team MoJo were eliminated at all. The pouty faces of the frat boys were great. They had an air of superiority about them forever and then came in second. Remember one of them made some comment about "I was at Harvard and he was at Stanford." School does not matter when you don't know the flags of the countries!

I like the hippies. Thought Ray and Yolanda did a good job. They need to get GPS built into themselves. Getting lost was their major downfall each time.

The reason I didn't like the hippies was mainly because of their non-stop mugging for the cameras. I also didn't like how they would make fun of the host country's language right in front to the locals. They did this the most in Italy, "That's-a right-a, we-ah, gonna winnah." They could be the poster boys for "The Ugly American."

Well, I said all along I would not complain if the hippies won -- although the get-up BJ wore on the CBS Morning Show had me reconsidering. I found them very, very annoying, but they raced well, and they were good examples (usually -- see blueangel's example above) of respectful travelers. They made some mistakes along the way, but recovered well.

Ray and Yolanda could only have won by fluke. They consistently made too many mistakes.

Like I've said before, I would have preferred to see Eric & Jeremy win. They ran a close to flawless race -- one of the best I've ever seen (one of the few teams to never finish below fourth place) -- and they were also good examples of respectful travelers.

As for them being "pouty" or "po'd," I interpreted their attitude as simple disappointment from very competative racers who almost won. I'm still puzzled as to how so many people took them and all of their skirt-chasing seriously. They made jokes at their own expense the entire race, even after losing. They didn't take themselves seriously, except when it came to racing and being competative. And they never called themselves "frat boys." As Phil indicated, that's a nickname other teams gave them.

But at the end, the hippies pulled it out.

I really wanted RaYo to win, but holy crap, they weren't very good at it during the last two legs. For real, if I were that crappy at navigating, you're damn right I would've, say, made myself look as cute as possible and tried to persuade a nice friendly local to be our guide for the day. That's also why I'd have a stash of sports jerseys/super cute accessories/something fun to give people who are nice.

Not that I can recall if they did it ever in front of the locals, but last night Eric and Jeremy were also "making fun" of the Japanese language. (I'm not trying to start an argument - just point out what I noticed. We can each have our own personal choices for who we're cheering on in these shows :))

I, for one, was also thrilled to see BJ & Tyler win - their outfits this morning were rather interesting, but I truly believe they were having fun throughout the entire race - if that's mugging, then I might have done the same thing had I been in their shoes.

Were they making fun of the Japanese language or making fun of dubbed kung fu/Godzilla movies? But you're exactly right -- we all have our personal choices for who we cheer on, and we probably tend to be more tolerant of our favorites.

I enjoyed watching how much fun they had -- that's one reason I won't complain about them winning. What I thought was mugging was how they seemed to overdo it for the cameras -- it was almost like beggin "look at us and how zany/fun/lovable we are." They did it less and less as the race went on -- perhaps because (like all teams) they were getting tired and perhaps because some mistakes and near eliminations injected some seriousness.

Should have mentioned yesterday: what about Ray proposing to Yolanda on The Early Show?

ETA: Just read an interview with Eric and Jeremy on Reality News Online as well as an interview with Ray and Yolanda. (I assume/hope there'll be an interview with BJ and Tyler posted soon -- RNO usually manages to interview most TAR teams.)

According to the interview, Eric is "moving up to New York to continue a relationship with Danielle from the show."

I'm just happy I don't have to look at those orange clown pants or hear "ka-tow" one more time!

I think it may have started out as the "dubbing" (or maybe it's the other way around), but they were saying how that if they "speed up" what they're trying to say the locals won't have as much of a problem understanding what they're saying. I don't know, maybe I'm the only one who took it as making fun :confused: (I didn't mind the dubbing - I thought that was pretty good! :))

Oh, I loved that part. What he was saying was that speaking English slowly doesn't help anyone who speaks a different language understand them. You know how some people (including some racers) act like if they just speak slowly enough, then anybody will understand them? Jeremy was just saying, "you know what, that doesn't work."

I thought that was funny since too many people really do seem to think that if they just talk slowly enough . . . .

i love it when people talk slower so people will understand them, lol!

Well, it does work IF the person has some basic understanding of the language. I can understand much of what someone is saying in Spanish IF they speak slowly.

Well, sure. But all too often, you see people act like speaking English (or any language) more slowly will enable someone who doesn't speak it miraculously to understand it.
