Our meteorologists are saying 5-10 inches, which usually means 2-3 inches. It's supposed to continue through tomorrow afternoon, though, so perhaps they're right for once! I'm hoping they are, I love snow.

8-12" headed my way. Blizzard warning tonight through tomorrow. I just hope I don't lose power...

preciousjeni 02-11-2006 01:19 PM

Supposedly a nor'easter heading in...aephi alum, are you in NY cuz I've been hearing 8-12 myself.

I had to laugh...I went to the store for like 2 things and there were a dang HUNDRED people there scrambling for food. I'm like, for real y'all, this is New York. The snow will be cleared in an hour. What is the issue? Not to mention the fact that if you do lose power, all the food's gonna spoil anyway!!!!!!

I live in Connecticut.

Around here, it takes the city the better part of a day to clear snow off the streets. I live on a quiet little street, which is good most of the time - but that means it's one of the lowest-priority streets for snow plowing.

:( I live on campus so we gets NO love from the city!! But, still, you say "the better part of a day to clear snow off the streets" and I agree - that's what happens here - so why are people getting food to last a month? It's craziness I tell ya!

Being that I'm from Georgia, originally, I'm surprised at how unaffected I'm becoming about any impending snowy danger. Maybe I have too much faith in the de-icing trucks and my snow tires!!!

It's snowing here...not a lot, but enough for me to cancel my going-out plans tonight! Normally, it takes me about 45 min. to get home from the bars on a weekend night...with any snow, considering we haven't had any in at least a month, it will take an hour and a half.

Sounds like New England is getting hammered. Good luck.

We got maybe 1/2 inch yesterday.

We used to have a Norwegian Elkhound. She was so much fun to watch in the snow!

HotDamnImAPhiMu 02-11-2006 10:58 PM

We've got four inches and it's STILL snowing.

It's great!

KatieKate1244 02-12-2006 12:11 AM

My area was supposed to be getting 5-10 inches, but being in a valley, we usually get a dusting. Instead of snow, we got a fair amount of rain.

Maybe we'll get enough to wash one of dorms away. That would be cool.

alum 02-12-2006 12:37 AM

We are getting NOTHING, at least by NE standards. As usual the men,I mean meteorologists, are overestimating their inches.:)

Weather people are 90% right -- 10% of the time.

Woo Hoo

We have a dusting! (I never thought I could post on this thread!)

AGDee 02-12-2006 09:30 AM

We got a dusting, with hard crunchy ice underneath it. It wasn't fun to get the windshield clean last night.

I'm glad we're not getting a N'oreaster. We've been lucky enough to have a very mild winter for Detroit and I would appreciate it if that trend continues.

mulattogyrl 02-12-2006 09:39 AM

People in my area are reporting anywhere from 6 to 12 inches. People only blocks away from each other are reporting 6 inch differences. Some are reporting 13-15 inches. All I know is when I look out my window, I see lots of snow.
