I would bet money that Rory is not pregnant and she and Logan are not getting married. My guess is that they move in together.

Lorelai met Suki at the flower market because they were supposed to pick out wedding flowers and Lorelai had forgotten to call Suki to tell her that the wedding was postponed. At the market, she told Suki about Luke's daughter. Later on, she went to Taylor's ice cream shop to sneak a peek at Luke and his daughter, who was visiting him at the diner. The entire town joined her at the window to stare at Luke, so Lorelai left. A few minutes later, Luke looked up and saw everyone staring at him. He got annoyed by it, but his daughter was reading and didn't even notice. When Luke got home, he complained to Lorelai about the town watching him and said that he wished that everyone else would give him privacy to get to know his daughter, like Lorelai had given him. Lorelai called her dad after learning that his tuition check to Yale had been returned (because Christopher had already paid for it). She broke the news to both of her parents that Christopher was paying for Rory's education. They got angry, so Lorelai decided that she and Rory should go to Friday Night Dinner to smooth things over. (She lied to Rory and told her that Emily really wanted Rory to be there.) However, when they arrived Emily and Richard both tried to avoid them. Finally, everyone opened up and voiced their feelings: Richard and Emily were angry at Rory for moving out with no notice; Loralei was angry at her parents for not backing her up when Rory first started having problems and dropped out of Yale; Rory and Emily argued about Rory still wanting to be in the DAR (Emily doesn't want her to be there because she views it as "her" thing). In the end, Lorelai and Rory left the house, exhausted. Lorelai said that Friday Night Dinners have officially resumed again. I think that's about all that happened. :) |
Friday Night is All Right for Fighting!
Show begins with Lorelai waking up at the buttcrack of dawn because she and Sookie were supposed to go flower shopping for the wedding. She's sneaking around the bedroom trying not to wake Luke (avoiding Luke, it seems) but Luke wakes up anyway. At the flower flea market, she breaks the news to Sookie that the wedding's postponed, and Sookie immediately assumes that it's Lorelai's fault again.
What did you do this time?, she asks. And Lorelai reveals that Luke has a daughter. Sookie starts wondering if her very own Jackson has his own lovechild. What's really pissing me off is that Lorelai's being such a fucking big baby about it. She's too busy moping around being passive aggressive and just needs to confront Luke about how she really feels already. Hello! He didn't know for 12 years that he had a kid! UGH! Paris totally lost her mind. She made a big stink about a freaking picture from a football game, argued with a photographer, and when it came time for the issue to go to press, a big blank box was printed in place of the photo with the caption that totally slammed on Paris the Editor in Chief. 99% of the Yale Daily News quits except for Rory, who didn't know that a revolt was going on until she showed up to make sure her story was submitted. A weird guy with curly hair and a yo-yo is also there, but he quits. Lorelai informs Richard and Emily that Christopher is now responsible for Rory's tuition. Apparently Richard went apeshit with the Yale Bursar's Office after his check got returned. Emily hangs up so hard that she probably broke the telephone. Still, Lorelai manages to trick Rory into going to Friday Night Dinner to patch things up with her grandparents. Luke has a hard time keeping up with his daughter, even buying "Geometry for Dummies". Lorelai's at the soda shoppe with Babette and the Stars Hollow gossips as they spy on Luke and his spawn. Back at Yale...Paris has constructed a shanty of an office and she really really really loses her mind. Rory convinces the staff to come back because at this point it doesn't look like they'll make the deadline to print. Logan shows up and by some stroke of luck that only Amy Sherman-Palladino knows how to accomplish, they get an deadline extension and Logan uses his last name to get the paper out in time. They start making out and I wanted to barf. Friday Night Dinner...Emily's outside painting moonscapes in 40 degree weather and Richard's too interested in his book. Enter Lorelai the Heroine as she forces her parents and daughter to talk to each other. Emily of course assumes that Rory went to her father for help so she didn't have any obligations to her grandparents despite the fact that Christopher was the one who approached her. Richard doesn't like the tone of voice Rory's taken with Emily. The fact that Emily wanted to buy a plane (or timeshare it, as she said) came up again, and Richard and Emily start arguing about that. They all become drunk at some point, btw. Emily reveals how she told off Shira Huntsberger and they all haha. Emily attempts to kick Rory out of the DAR even though Rory doesn't want to. Rory makes it clear that she likes more members than her grandma does. I'm not quitting! Oh yes you are! Lorelai tells her dad about Luke's kid. He doesn't say anything. Emily and Lorelai argue about how Lorelai and Christopher should have gotten married when she got knocked up. WE WERE 16! And yes kids, Friday Night Dinners are reinstated. Should be good next week. I think Rory's position at the paper compromises her living conditions, hence -- the "big announcement". |
LOL Carrie...great minds think alike!

I don't remember if I've said this here or not -- I've said it somewhere, but who knows and I'm too lazy to go back and look. Anyway, some of the supporting characters are just TOO ANNOYING and TOO OUT OF CONTROL. I mean seriously, nobody as jacked as Paris would survive to adulthood in real life -- she's completely unrealistic and just stupidly annoying. And Sookie? SHUT UP. It's great that you get pregnant every five minutes, but seriously, THE ENTIRE WORLD IS NOT ALL ABOUT YOU and STFU.
I do, however, like Logan. |

I mean, Sally Struthers? Who the hell does she think she's fooling with the "Hey, Sugar"? She's MISS SAVE THE CHILDREN, for crying out loud! |

I think Rory, Lorelai, Luke and MAYBE Lane are the only "normal" people on GG. The rest have SOMETHING going on.....and Paris is kind of like Emily!

Ok, life just sucks. I have missed my two favorite shows this week due to real life drama. So thanks for the updates on Grey's Anatomy... now what happened on Gilmore Girls last night? I caught the last 5 minutes and that's it!
OTW, where are you???? |
Hey - I don't have time to post a full recap of last night's episode (maybe OTW can do it for you later today)... but here's the gist of what happened as found on the official GG website.
As Valentine's Day approaches, Rory (and Logan invite Lorelai and Luke to spend a weekend with them at Logan's family's house on Martha's Vineyard. Rory and Logan have a wonderful time, but Lorelai is upset by Luke's unfriendly attitude toward Logan. Luke's attitude changes when he realizes he forgot to buy Lorelai a Valentine gift, and Logan saves the day by letting Luke give Lorelai one of the gifts he had bought for Rory. When Lorelai finally confesses to Luke that she is worried the wedding will never take place, he reassures her that they will get married soon. The weekend ends in an ugly scene when Logan's father, Mitchum Huntzberger, arrives and berates Logan for ignoring his responsibilities in the family business. My quick addition: Mitchum is mad at Logan for blowing off a trip to London for a meeting with some of his business associates in order to spend the weekend with Rory. During the screaming match (which everyone witnesses), he tells Logan that he will be spending a year in London running the company -- starting the day after his Yale graduation. This obviously interferes with plans that he and Rory have been making for a six-week trip to Asia over the summer. He assures Rory that the trip is still on, but you can tell Rory is doubtful. That's all I've got time for right now... sorry! :( |
