I think we need to rename this thread the Donnie Darko thread because I'm pretty sure I've seen this discussion before.

No matter how old your "traditions" are in your org, it will always seem to others that your org simply saw things that other folks were doing and said "that looks cool, lets do it too!". I've attended 2 PWI's and visited many others, and I've never seen those chapters with handsigns, calls, line names, etc. But mysteriously, chapters at HBCUs want to imitate what they see D9 orgs do. I don't know if its a case of "I didn't make line for XYZ so I'll take the next best thing" or you simply want to fit in with everyone else. Yeah, I said it...You look like copycats. |

@Soul D-Psi-ple: Dude, you don't have to explain anything. You'll get nowhere, trust me. Sounds like you are cool bein in KKPsi. So keep doin you, and your bruhs will keep doin them. That's why threads like this get so long....doing a lot of unecessary explaining and at the end of the day, real talk, some people are STILL gonna say and think that your org is fake, it's biting off other orgs, etc. Not an attack on you but chill out. If anybody feel you, I feel you. But I learned a long time ago that it ain't worth it to trip in here off of every little thing... |

Your words are wise. All Greeks have to deal with some form of criticism and KIM instead of trying to defend it. I'm still learning that to some degree, but I'm not getting into an insult fest over it. I just post my observations. |
Well, it's not really my image to post, but I was curious about this whole thing, so I looked up the KKPsi chapter at my undergrad ... here they are, in all their PWI-ness, doing the handsigns ...
