Each organization has something different to provide and you will only discover which fraternity is right for you by visiting them at least once. To help you keep track of which chapters you’ve visited, check them off the following list as you go. Chapter Visitation Checklist Note: Chapters housed off campus, on dorm floors, or not housed recruit at locations noted. Delta Chi Colony will begin recruitment after recruitment week. Alpha Gamma Rho Alpha Tau Omega Delta Sigma Phi (using Delta Gamma's House) Delta Tau Delta (using Pi Beta Phi's House) FarmHouse Kappa Alpha Order Kappa Sigma Lambda Chi Alpha Phi Delta Theta Phi Gamma Delta (using Kappa Alpha Theta's House) Phi Kappa Psi (tent area across from Kappa Sigma's House) Phi Kappa Tau (tent area next to Kappa Sigma's House) Phi Sigma Kappa Pi Kappa Alpha Pi Kappa Phi (using Delta Zeta's House) Sigma Alpha Epsilon Sigma Chi Sigma Nu Sigma Phi Epsilon Sigma Pi Triangle (using Alpha Gamma Delta's House) ~ Relax! Fraternity recruitment at the University of Kentucky is very informal. ~ Bring a friend. Remember that friend from high school who is also at UK? What about your roommate or the guy down the hall? Invite a friend to participate in fraternity recruitment with you. ~ Visit as many fraternities as possible before making any decisions. Although you may recognize a fraternity’s name or know a fraternity member, visit a number of groups so that you can make an educated choice as to which fraternity is best for you. Each fraternity is unique. ~ Ask questions. To best understand what an individual fraternity is all about, you should ask questions and compare answers. Use the list in this brochure for ideas on questions you should ask. ~ Try to meet as many members as possible while you are visiting a fraternity. Where are last year’s new members? Seniors? Chapter officers? This will give you a better idea about the members of the chapter. ~Remember that fraternity recruitment is a mutual selection process by both you and the fraternity. Look at all of your options and find the fraternity where you are most comfortable. ~ Don’t be pressured into a decision. If you need more time to make a decision, take it. Beware of the fraternity that is unwilling to give you ample time to make a decision. ~ Be confident in yourself. Be yourself. ~ Enjoy yourself and have fun! |

Maybe once rush is over (open houses today) some of our GC UK Greeks will let us know if they are in any of the pictures. Side note: I'm heading out to a UK Alumni picnic today here in the Bay Area. Three former NPC advisors (what ever each sorority calls 'em) for their respective sororities will be in attendance. So I'm fairly certain there will be lots of talk about UK's rush at the picnic. GO CATS! On! On! U of K |
anyone have anything on how recruitment has gone?
Not yet- but I hate it they are going to get downpours on their bid day!
Looking out the windows right now... it looks nice. A little wet but the sun is out. Now this afternoon, can't tell yeah!
Just heard that our Alpha Theta Chapter took quota of 51 new baby turtles!!! Yea! No details on the days events other than that, or if it rained...
From UKDaisy's post in the SEC thread, it sounds like 10 out of the 12 houses made quota and the others were very close.
Good job Kittens! |
