I'm re-reading Harry Potter (all of them...because I love them! :D )

Anyway, I'm really starting to think that Mark Evans is nothing more than a red herring.

In PoA. It states in the first chapter that the Dursleys are Harry's only living relatives.

Dumbeldore also says this in PS/SS. I'm pretty sure it's ben stated in CoS, GoF and OoTP.

Now, everyone knows if Ms. Rowling repeats herself, it's important. You should take her seriously. And it's been mentioned several times that the Dursleys are Harry's only living relatives, I am starting to believe that Mark Evans might not be so important.

I'm so torn on the Mark Evans thing. 75% of me is totally with Lady Pi Phi, and the other part is like "hmmmm...."

I think that's going to be the winning question on the FAQ survey, though, so we may find out soon!

Dudley as the Half Blood Prince?

I know I said earlier that maybe Dudley is the HBP, and I know it's a bit of a stretch, but there's an interesting editorial on Mugglenet that says why Dudley could be the HBP.

Check it out here:

That FAQ poll is starting to drive me nuts!!! She hasn't answered the questions since she revamped the website about 2 months ago!!!

I really feel like Mark Evans is a red herring. As my HS English teacher told us, "Anytime an author mentions something more than once, it means the fact is important. SO PAY ATTENTION FATHEADS!!!" I feel she has meantioned waaaay too many times that the Durselys are the only family left.

After seeing Spiderman 2 this weekend, I think Willam Dafoe would make an awesome Voldemort. He even looks a little snake-like, and he's great at playing pure evil.

I agree, he plays a great villain, but it'll never happen. He's not English.

I know, but I'd rather see someone really good who isn't English play Voldie than someone who is English but is entirely inappropriate like Rowan Atkinson (even though that rumor has been debunked).

BTW, that Dudley-as-HBP article is quite interesting, especially the quote at the end of OotP about Harry not being a "spoiled little prince." However, I don't think it's Dudley.

I have to agree. I went back to look at the portions of OotP that the author mentioned. In each case, Hermione speaks vaguely or distractedly because, well she is distracted. In one case because she is writing to Viktor Krum, in one case she is doing her homework, and in the third case she is busy looking at information on what career she might want to pursue. I don't think there's more to it than that.

I'd like to see a good actor play Voldie too. Ralph Fiennes, is rumoured to be playing him.
But as per JKR's stipulations, all actors must be English.

ETA: I;ve read some interesting suggestions by people who they think should play Voldemort.

Gabriel Byrne
Christopher Lee
Jeremy Irons
Ben Kingsley
Michael Wincott (Canadian - but plays a great bad guy)

OH BOY

It's ironic, but JKR just updated her website with the answer to the FAQ poll. The Mark Evans question won.

She sure does!

I didn't want to ruin it for anyone. :)

No, no...don't do that. I just wanted to make she sure she had an answer posted, and she wasn't just teasing us :D

I can see either of those two playing Voldemort. Jeremy Irons is cool because his voice is just eerie. Remember when he played Scar in Lion King? Yeah, it was ages ago, but when I was little, that character's voice freaked me out.

And Ben Kingsley just rocks.

Is this on the JKR site itself or is it on another site? I went to it on Friday and don't remember seeing a poll. Guess I need to look harder.
