If you don't mind me asking, what book is that?

Even though I'm not a member, why am I  at what other book she may have obtained?

I went back and read my post from way back when. Still feel the same way...if it is meant to be, it shall be. I tell interests for Gamma Sig the very same thing.

Everything I need to know I have learned from AKA1908.com and reading newsletters on the web of the different regions of AKA. (Especially, of the region I'm interested in obtaining membership.)
Go on girl! You are ON it!

WONDERFUL! MOST History books are available to the Public. Owning a history book (official or not official) does NOT gurantee membership. LOL, frankly ROTFLMAO!

The moral of these responses is to let peeps know that they should NOT count their chickens BEFORE they hatch. Regardless of the information they have, don't have, can obtain or cannot obtain.

The book is authorized! I'll say that much. It's really not a 'history book'. It talks about the history but not in great detail. It highlights major events such as the Boules and past presidents. And no I didn't get it from Ebay either!

Ok, it's called 'Past is Prologue'. It was written by Marjorie Parker. I don't know if it's an updated version of 'Through the Years' but it's fairly recent. I found it by accident.

Help is grately appreciated!!!

Forgive me, distinguished members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Soroity, Incorporated, for bringing an old topic back from the dead but since the time of the original start of this thread, many new interested sisterfriend have joined the masses, I being one of them. I am a seriously interested sisterfriend and I can speak for only me...The words of wisdom and advice that I have received from any member of your illustrious sisterhood are taken to heart and kept in mind during my everyday life. Since this is a lifelong commitment, comments that are received from those that are already where I pray to one day be are heeded and kept very close to my heart since that is where my interest in your sisterhood is also.

Once again, this is my first post and, although I have read all the announcements that have been posted, I do not want to break any rules so forgive me if I was wrong for bringing back an old topic and please let me know. Thank you in advance.

Initially, I started not to post since this thread was started long ago. But since it's been resurrected and there's probably someone new looking for info on the web everyday--lemme share some of my lessons with you.

Please do your OWN research. I know you've read this over and over again, but the members are saying this for a reason. I have done my own research and continue to learn something new or gain a new perspective everytime I open my binder of things that I have collected over the years. Besides, you'll get a great deal of satisfaction from uncovering things on your own.

Consider your questions before you ask. I know that I don't want to see the day come when Members refuse to conversate with sisterfriends about anything because the questions and comments have gotten out of hand. I have been fortunate enough to meet some wonderful people at various forums, including members of AKA.

With that said, ask yourself how much can a member in Texas help you if you live in New Jersey? Don't always take the World Wide web (www) literally. It only goes so far before we have to start meeting members in our own communities.

Be careful of what you say and who you confide in. This applies to everyone. Sad to say, but not everyone has the same agenda.
