THANK YOU!!

My dad an i share the same first name. The only difference is our middle names, so i'm not a junior. Still at 24 i'm being called "Little" John by family members. Its irritating, especially when i'm now bigger than my dad.

On my dad's side, there's me and him who are both named John. His sister married a guy named Dom, and they named their first son Dom and the second one Tom. So, when we're visiting the NY family, there's John, John, Dom, Dom and Tom. It's like a bad Dr. Seuss book.

Well up until my cousin was born we had normal names in our family...and my uncle named him Colton....Hello! That is a city name...and sickening enough they don't live that far from that city.

My cousin named her son Kolten. I think it's cute.

It's so confusing, and it's not even like you can differentiate by calling them by their full names, like Jen Smith and Jen Jones. Well in my family my brother is named after my dad.. both Michaels.. my dad has always gone by mickey though to family and friends.. though my brother just goes as michael. Now the catch is I am dating someone named Michael (goes as mike).. haha..

then my cousin is named after his dad John Michael.. he uses his full name.. so thats not so confusing in our fam..

most of my family has used all family names.. which I will probably do the same.. I was almost Victoria Elyssa though (which is a family name but my mom and dad feared people calling me Vicky..)

I have a sister named Sunny. Sunny is her real first name, and it isn't short for anything. In the newspaper the other day, I saw a baby girl named Bradleigh. I had an ex-boyfriend who wanted to name his son Cameron Alexander M(last name), and call him Cam, in addition to having his initials being CAM.

There is a student in one of my classes named Hye Min. Everytime I talk to her I purposely pronounce her name as "Haymin" because I can't look at her with a straight face and call her "Hymen."

My parents names are John and Linda. After they got divorced, my dad married a Linda. My mom has been seeing a guy named John for a long time. How weird is that?

Well, all the names on the soap opera Bold and the Beautiful irritate the hell out of me: Brooke, Ridge, Thorne, and of course, the family name Forrester WTH??? That is rediculous, and I would never name my children names that would make people think they crawled out from some wilderness somewhere.

A girl I use to work with was named Holly Wood. Why do parents do this to their children?!

Sounds like the Phoenix family. We all remember actor River Phoenix right?

Well he had syblings with the names, Tree, Hart, and Lake (he might have had more but I can't remember )

i would also not allow my child to name themself, or have an older sibling name them for me....unless that child was old enough to know that "claire" is a name, and "tic tac" is not...

my mom was named by her 9 yr old sister who was spoiled b/c my g-parents thought she would be their only child (rough pregnancy), and they wanted to make her "feel better"....*coughs* stupid! *coughs, coughs*

so, my mom is named after a very popular doll at the time....the "terri lee" doll......

i will never understand ppl naming their kids "moon" and "starry", etc get a dog. have fun naming that ....and hello peekbo (sp?) the skiier??? never let a 2 yr old name themself!!!!

as far as what they want to call themselves later in life, fine. a nickname won't be yelled out on a loud speaker for the whole world to hear at their graduation. (yeah, i'm talkin to you, "buttsex") ;)
