Dr. J ho's around...
'Dr. J' Sex Tape Released?
Mon Jan 26,11:49 PM ET A sex video reportedly featuring NBA Hall of Famer and Orlando resident Julius Erving has surfaced just as he begins divorce proceedings from Turquoise Erving, his wife of 30 years. The alleged tape was delivered to the New York Post last week and was apparently shot several years ago in a San Jose, Calif., hotel room with a young woman. Dr. J, 53, who led the Philadelphia 76ers to the NBA championship in 1983, reportedly said that it was his wife who released the tape to the media. "This tape was made 15 years ago, while my wife and I were separated," Erving told The Philadelphia Inquirer Monday through a spokesman. "The decision by my wife's advisers to release it during our divorce negotiations is disappointing, especially since my wife has had it in our possession all these years." The New York Post, said the video shows a younger Erving in an "undershirt, boxers, and metal-framed glasses engaging with a voluptuous, dark-haired young woman with cinnamon skin (ST's comment...well, at least she's of color) wearing a negligee." A Seminole County, Fla., court ordered Erving to pay Turquoise $1,500 a week, plus household expenses, and $8,000 a month for credit-card bills. Erving lists his net worth at $9 million. The former Sixers star has fathered at least two children out of wedlock: tennis player Alexandra Stevenson, 22, and Jules, a 6-year-old son identified in divorce papers last year. |

Master P, ugh.
Couldn't happen to a sleazier, less talented parasite on the community. Oh wait, Lil Jon is still out there. And the St. Lunatics. Well I guess it's all a matter of time. |

Who's "Crazy in Love" with Beyoncé Knowles? The NBA and Tommy Hilfiger, for starters.
On Tuesday, it was announced that not only would the lead singer for Destiny's Child sing at halftime of the NBA All-Star Game Feb. 15 in Los Angeles but also she will help launch a new Hilfiger fragrance. The sweet smell of success comes when people talk about you with an unending string of adjectives. If you'll recall from the School House Rocks videos, "Adjectives are words you use to really describe things, /Handy words to carry around. /Days are sunny or they're rainy /Boys are dumb or else they're brainy. /Adjectives can show you which way." Buzz challenges you: How many adjectives are in the following statement by Tommy Hilfiger, honorary chairman and principal designer of Tommy Hilfiger U.S.A.? "Beyoncé is a true star. Not only is she extremely talented and beautiful, but she is sophisticated, intelligent and charming. Her career is serious, professional and on the rise." |

411 for the week of January 26th, 2004 Oprah Winfrey turns 50 this week and to celebrate she is planning a three day extravaganza. Oprah is planning a show featuring 50 fabulous women including Halle Berry, Maria Shriver and Julia Roberts. Oprah is also preparing for the Oprah Pop Star Challenge, A Los Angeles American Idol. Oprah will be searching for new music stars. Singer Ashanti has signed on to be one of the co-hosts for the finals. (Afrochic's sidenote: Great, just what we need, a co-host with no talent  ) According to published reports Michael Jackson's ex-wife, Debbie Rowe, is going to fight him for custody of their two children. Debbie is concerned about Michael's growing involvement with the Nation of Islam. Debbie is concerned about how her children are being raised. Debbie is Jewish and sources say she is planning to prove that Michael is not the children's biological father. She will provide evidence that she was inseminated with sperm from an anonymous donor. After all these years Debbie is worried about her children. She sold her womb for six million dollars, a house and a car, plus she gets $50,000 a month for household expenses. In other Michael news, his advisors had to have a sit down with the pop star. After last week's antics at court they are fed up with him. They want him to start acting like a grownup. Last week at his arraignment Michael put on quite a show. His advisors want him to cut out the cake and ice cream parties at Neverland. They also say no more moon walking on top of SUV's. They want him to stop being late for court and stop relying on his big brother Jermaine for advice. Jermaine was the one who suggested the cake and ice cream party at Neverland for the fans. His advisors say he looks as though he is thumbing his nose at the legal system. He is facing serious charges with the child molestation allegations and when he appears in court again this summer they want him to be more respectful. A benefit is being planned for singer Leve Stubbs, of the Four Tops. Levi has been sick for a while and he has not been able to tour with the group. The Four Tops are planning to celebrate 50 years in show business and they are planning a benefit in Detroit. The Pointer Sisters are regrouping. June Pointer has been battling drug addiction for years and her sister's daughter is replacing her. The Pointer Sisters will now consist of Anita, Ruth and Ruth's Daughter Issa. Issa comes from a strong musical background. Her father is Dennis Edwards of The Temptations. The Pointer Sisters are gearing up for a summer tour and they have a new greatest hits package coming out on March 9th. The Showtime series Soulfood returns for a fifth and final season on February 25th. ABC is gearing up for the 45th anniversary of Berry Gordy establishing Motown Records. Lionel Richie and Justin Timberlake will be hosting the show that will air in late spring. Proceeds from the concert will benefit UNCF. VH1 is planning another Divas Special. The show will air in April live from Las Vegas with proceeds benefiting the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. Bill Bellamy and Vivica Fox are going to do a movie together called Getting Played. |

June was the skinny one with the big mouth. She had braces at one time. (I hate to describe her like that, but it's the truth). Her mouth kind of reminds you of the Xiomara (sp) contestent on ANTM.
Yeah, she sang most of the lead. Anita had the "long" hair. The one with the deep voice that had twins at 40+ maybe Ruth. (I may have Anita and Ruth confused). There was another sister Bonnie (I think) that left the group early on. |
