The most disturbing movie i ever saw and i thought silence was a cake walk after that movie was with demi moore....the 7th sign.... freaked me out
|
I saw the original "Lolita" directed by Stanley Kubrick recently, and I gotta say that was pretty messed up.
I also find "The Stepford Wives" very disturbing but I love that movie.....I am anxious for the remake to see if it is any good...I don't know how believable it would be set in the present though. The caveman mentality was still much more prevalent in '75. |
The newer Lolita (with Dominique Swain and Melanie Griffith) and American Beauty were good movies, but I felt dirty after I watched them.
|
"Kids" and "Thirteen" are crazy. I'm worried about my kids even though I don't have any yet.
Oh "Being John Malkovich" (sp?) "Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich" hehe. didn't even recognize Cameron Diaz |
American History X
|
Not sure how many have seen this but Monster with Charlize Thearon, is just plain disturbing... it is one of those it's just TOO UNCOMFORTABLE TO WATCH !
|
more movies
People, you need to watch
May. Screwed with my head. They. Cool ass flick. very good movies |
Calling all babysitters of the early '80s!
How about When A Stranger Calls?? (<Ring, ring> "Have you checked the children?") Scared the bejeezus out of me for weeks.
I'd also add/co-sign on The Wizard of Oz. I actually had to be sedated via warm bath and long backrub from Mommy over that film when I was 4 --that Wicked Witch of the West is just CREEPY! |

OMG!!!! I saw that one too! I saw it with my brother and sister when my sister and I were in high school and bro was in middle school. He started crying :( I felt so awful. And no, my parents did NOT know what kind of video it was...I am certain they would have laid down the law! |
I think Higher Learning was very disturbing, but very impactful at the same time. Same goes for Schindler's List. American History X is just frightening.
Now, you're all gonna laugh, but the two movies I can't watch at all are Jurassic Park and Independence Day. I've always been terrified of dinosaurs and I spent the whole movie crying and I had nightmares for weeks. |

Kill Bill left me thinking, the film by Mister Tarrintino. |
I have another one to add to the list.
Dirty Pretty Things Here's the synopsis from Rogers.com: Set in London’s secret underworld, where everything is for sale, this is the story of a young man, Okwe and a Turkish chambermaid, Senay, who work at the same West London hotel – a breeding ground for illegal activity. They are put to the test when Okwe makes a shocking discovery late one night. I don't want to give it away, but trust me...it is shocking and rather disturbing. But a good film. |

It's alive scared the hell out of me too |
house of sand and fog... the whole thing is just so depressing and the ending is really upsetting, but it is an amazing movie (and book as well)
i'll agree with monster... although the acting was great what about primal fear? no one has mentioned that one i don't think.... edward norton at the end scared the hell out of me i agree with requiem too... i saw it in the theatre, knew nothing about it, and was completely unprepared for the ending... i wanted to walk out because i felt sick, but i couldn't look away happiness, yes... what a fucked up film anyone seen gummo? it's pretty disturbing (the whole thing with the cats) the doom generation... the ending with the castration and the american flag... it's just sick... the whole thing is sick really kids, bully, the newest one is called ken park... they're all disturbing and not to beat a dead horse, but the passion of the christ was disturbing to me... for obvious reasons american psycho wasn't disturbing to me, but that's because i had already read the book... once you read it, i don't think anything else can ever really disturb you again lol... the rat scene still won't get out of my brain like 4 years later and i know this isn't a movie, but it is on DVD now, so i will list it, because it disturbed me more than anything else ever... twin peaks... i've only seen season one because i'm too scared to watch the rest, but BOB is the scariest motherfucker EVER... when he's at the end of the couch looking up at her mom... oh my gosh, i'm gonna have nightmares tonight now |

I think American Psycho's book was disturbing but the movie was not. The movie focused more on the humor. My friends and I joke a lot about each other being just like the guy in the movie and watch it all the time. -Rudey |
