YAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!! @ Diva_01 and BrnSuga!!! I have my M.S.W. and used to be a social worker in a men's prison. I also used to be a welfare caseworker. I'm currently a geriatric case manager in a hospital. I go out to client's homes and conduct assessments to get them resources they may need in the community. Can you tell I love being a social worker? :D Check my location.;)

My career goals are slightly different though. I want to be an admissions rep, where I can travel and stuff. I do have an interest in res life coordination, but I think it will totally tire me out (mentally). Some of the stories I heard from other res life people... |
Actually I was thinking about admissions rep too. I worked a little in the admissions office as a student recruiter in my undergraduate years.
However, my focus has changed to current students and retention rates as oppose to just getting the students here. |

I originally enrolled in college as an Accounting major. Made the switch in majors during Junior year. |
Graduated May 1, 2004 :D And what a beeeeeautiful day it was! Yes indeed!
Major: Psychology Minor: African & African American Studies After graduation I worked with a state funded agency that helps provide funds to low-income persons (minority females) needing money for childcare. Worst job ever. It's one of those jobs you end up getting sucked into for years and years, then you look back and wonder what happened. I was lucky I was able to escape! Currently seeking a Masters in Public Health. I'm in my 1st of 2 years. Uuuhhh, I don't know what I want to do with my degree yet. Not a clue. :o I'll figure it out though, hopefully by the time I graduate.;) |
Undergrad: Business Management
Concentration: Marketing Graduate: Physical Education Specialization: Sports Management Career: Currently a Graduate Assistant working in Events Management of Athletics Department and managing 17 teams, Men and Women |
My major is psychology.
I don't have a minor because I'm too lazy to apply to the education department, but if I wasn't I'd minor in education/child development. I plan to go on to a doctoral program in school psychology or educational psychology. I'd like to get involved in the psychological services of a public school system, and/or serve as a consultant for a system that serves predominantly minority students (like my old one). I also want to conduct educational research and perhaps get a professorship in an education department at a liberal arts college :D Right now I'm a research assistant to my statistics professor, and I'm applying for the National Institute of Mental Health's undergradate research program for minorities at my school (NIMH-COR). I also worked at a summer camp last summer for kids ages 5-12 and am going back this summer; I am a Kaplan SAT tutor; and I volunteer at a local elementary school. |
